AC/DC Racing? |
According to Undercover.fm, Johnson spoke to Australia's Watcha News and said, "last year we were talking about race series I could do. Australian V8 Supercars came up and I'd love to have a shot in one of them. It's going to be quite a year. My season will start in Florida, where I live, and with a bit of luck it could end up in a V8 supercar Down Under."
Johnson went on to explain the similarities between racing and rock and roll: "I love the atmosphere with an audience in our rock concerts. Translate that audience to the racetrack. It would be amazing. I've tried NASCAR at Indianapolis. That gets your arse twitching like a rabbit's nose. I just loved it. Like NASCAR, V8 Supercars have a lot of power there and all the cars are pretty equal so that's what makes it so exciting to watch."

Singled Out: Michael Stanley |
Somewhat after the fact, I realized that the album's opener, 'It's All About Tonight' had perfectly encapsulated what had become a recurring theme in my writing; the idea that you just don't know what's around the corner and that it's critical to remain open to the possibilities...that 'tonight', one way or another, always has the possibility of being a game-changer. And, oh yeah...this cut proves that the ability to rock hard is not limited to twenty year olds!
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album

Guns N' Roses and AC/DC Classics Make Greatest Guitar Riffs Of All Time |
30. "Welcome to the Jungle," Guns N' Roses (1987): You know you've scored a killer riff when it becomes a staple at all major sporting events to fire up a crowd. The first song ever co-written by Slash and Axl Rose, "Welcome to the Jungle" was the second single from Guns N' Roses landmark 1987 debut album Appetite for Destruction. In his autobiography, Slash says it was Axl who remembered and reminded him of the classic riff when GN'R were first starting to write songs together. The Chapeaued Shredder originally conjured "Jungle's" riff while shacking up in his mother's basement. Sean Patrick Dooley
25. "Highway to Hell," AC/DC (1979): Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young have always been geniuses at harnessing the no-nonsense power of open chords, and "Highway to Hell" features some doozies. But its main riff also includes a very clever moving bass note (F# to G) under a D chord shape, which adds a sense of movement and complexity to an otherwise simple two-chord riff. That same feeling of movement drives the verse along and sets everything up for the Big Chorus, another AC/DC staple. Peter Hodgson
