Bret Michaels Cruise Sinks |

Michaels -- who is currently touring with Poison and Motley Crue -- explains, "I want to reassure everyone that I have went out of my way to try and make this the best fan cruise on the high seas ... Jimmy Page Launches His New Website With Special Features |
The guitar god was responsible for the website's conception which includes the daily "On This Day" feature. Each day, an event from Page's career will be highlighted through a multimedia presentation of video, audio, rare images, unreleased material and more. Each entry will be accompanied by a "personal anecdote" from Page, too. Yet, each entry will be available for only 24 hours. A press statement guarantees that there will be no archive and once an item is gone, it's gone from the site for good.
Eventually the website also will include an overview of Page's recorded work (with notes from the man himself) and an online store selling rare and exclusive pieces. "I've had the domain name for a number of years," Page said. "I've just been sitting on it and a number of people had made approaches about setting something up and it got to a point that it felt it was the right time to put the website together."

The Black Keys Channel The Clash and The Cramps On New Album |
So what's the between last year's Grammy-winning LP and the as-yet-untitled new album? Speed. "It's the fastest we've ever played," Auerbach told Spin magazine. "The new album doesn't sound like Brothers. It doesn't have that open soul feel to it. It's way more driving and the tempos are really fast."
The guitarist said the Keys (who also include drummer Patrick Carney) were inspired by The Clash, The Cramps and old-time rockabilly on the new album. They've been working on the material at Auerbach's Nashville studio with producer Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton), who has worked on the last two Black Keys records. "He understands all the different kinds of music we're into," Auerbach said about Burton. "He's got really great ideas about melody and song structure. For him it's all about the song."

Scorsese talked about Harrison's effect on him in a statement: "I will never forget the first time I heard All Things Must Pass, the overwhelming feeling of taking in all that glorious music for the first time. It was like walking into a cathedral. George was making spiritually awake music we all heard and felt it and I think that was the reason that he came to occupy a very special place in our lives.
"So when I was offered the chance to make this picture, I jumped at it. Spending time with Olivia, interviewing so many of George's closest friends, reviewing all that footage, some of it never seen before, and listening to all of that magnificent music it was a joy, and an experience I'll always treasure."

The Day Why Do Fools Fall in Love Went To The Top |
Lymon grew up in a poor family in Harlem, New York. He began singing at an early age likely inspired by his truck driver father, who spent his free time singing with the gospel group the Harlemaires. Frankie and his brothers were members of the Harlemaire Juniors. In order to help support his family, he began working as a grocery boy at age 10, although he soon got into less legitimate forms of work including hustling prostitutes. Reportedly, by age 12, he was having relationships with women twice his age.
Around that same time, Frankie saw a doo-wop group named the Coupe De Villes at a talent show. He became friends with the lead singer, Herman Santiago, and quickly worked his way into the group which was then going by both The Ermines and The Premieres.

Singled Out: Carolina Liar's Drown |
"'Drown' is a song about coming to terms with the decision to start a new life -- just jump in headfirst and be set free. In a lot of ways, it's about where the band is now. We've parted ways with our label and are putting this new record out on our own. Like any new adventure, it's something that's both daunting and exciting, but luckily we live in an age when artists no longer need the major label machine to heard. So we're looking forward to this new journey. The album title 'Wild Blessed Freedom' also ties in to that theme.
This is our second album with producer Max Martin and once again, it was an amazing experience. He has an incredible ear and an uncanny ability to bring out stuff that you don't realize you have inside. We ended up with a bigger-sounding album and music that really lends itself to a live experience. We wanted to write songs that can get the audience up and moving and excited. And we had a great time making it.
It's funny, we spent 6 months recording in Sweden and then 6 months in LA. But there was a record snowfall while we were working in Sweden. It was just unbelievably cold and I was staying in a basement apartment and the snow was stacked so high, I couldn't see outside the window. And yet we wound up recording the poppiest moments of the record there. I think subconsciously we were just trying to create our own joy to escape from that miserable weather.
There was a bar across the street from the studio and every night we'd go there for a break. The first time we went, we noticed shelves of bottles with stuff we'd never heard of before, so we agreed that with each visit, we'd all have to take a shot of something none of us had ever tried before. It was fun, but I must admit, there were a few times when we returned to the studio and were too hammered to keep working."
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
