Sex Pistol Vs Ozzy Osbourne |
"Paranoid was one of the world's greatest ever singles," says Lydon, referring the 1970 Black Sabbath classic. "But since then, the rumors of biting pigeon heads really, really haven't impressed me. Ozzy now acting like a senile delinquent is equally unimpressive. The sly innuendo of promoting drug abuse and catatonic stupidity offends me."
"I'm not one for banning drugs," continued Lydon. "Quite the opposite. But I understand how to use them, and they don't use me. Ozzy is clearly a victim, and selling that loser lifestyle s**t to other people equally victimizes them."

The script has been in development at Paramount for years, but with the Jackass crew attached, it is being rewritten to include more stunts (which Dunn, Margera and Knoxville will do themselves, of course). Broken Lizard, the people behind Super Troopers and Beerfest, are producing the movie.

Myers is used to playing arenas packed with 10,000-plus screaming rock fans. But for the month of March, Myers is turning down the volume and embarking on a solo, acoustic tour with fellow singer-songwriter and longtime buddy Chris Allen (Ingram Hill).
The souLLow Acoustic 2011 Tour, which kicked off Thursday in Toledo, Ohio, is totally different from a Shinedown show. For one, Myers and Allen play their own originals, covers and only a few Shinedown songs. "Shinedown is something I love, and I'll be a part of it forever. But I can't sing like [Shinedown lead singer] Brent Smith," Myers said in an interview with Gannett Media. "He's the greatest singer on the earth. I can't do what he does, so I couldn't do some of our songs justice. I'll do a couple of Shinedown songs, but not really the singles. Just the Shinedown songs that are my personal favorites."

Metallica Frontman in New Fatherhood Film |
In a new interview with Rockville Music Magazine, Hunt and Hetfield talk about the journey toward the finished film. "The fact that we did get [Hetfield] involved, potentially the millions of people we can reach by having him involved, [by telling his] story," said Hunt, who's a lifelong Metallica fan. "It's a great story because it's James but still it's just a typical human story. The other side of it is what he did with it. That's what makes it so unique. If you go backwards to all the people who have been effected [sic] by his music, and whittle that down to the fact that a lot of that came from a father wound, it's amazing what he's done with it in a positive sense."
In the film, Hetfield looks at how his relationship with his father shaped his own parenting style and how he learned to change that. "I was waiting to be ready for [fatherhood], and now when I talk to some friends [who are saying], 'I don't know if this is the girl for me, I'm afraid we're going to have kids. I don't know how to do all this,' I say, 'Ah, well you're normal,'" said Hetfield. "I had no clue on what to do. I thought I'd better start reading some books on how to be dad. I started to get mad. My dad didn't teach me to do this or this. How can I teach my kids if he didn't teach me?! I'd better go learn it.

The album features an impressive roster of guest musicians, including: Alison Krauss, Dwight Yoakam, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Rob Ickes, Stuart Duncan, Byron House, Gary Burr and many more.
With this album, Shaw, a Montgomery, Alabama native, establishes himself as an authentic addition to the Bluegrass community. Born with a unique gift for music, a passion quickly recognized by his parents, he picked up his first guitar at the age of ten. From what his brothers remember, after Tommy's introduction to the guitar; "We never saw him again...", as he would stay in his room for hours practicing day and night. His tenacity and intrinsic passion for Bluegrass at an early age implies that this new release isn't a casual endeavor, but a return to the music on which he was raised. Shaw wrote or co-wrote every song on the album in addition to playing acoustic guitar, dobro/resonator and mandolin.

Duff McKagan Starts Wealth Management Firm |
The company's goal is to educate rockers about their finances instead of pandering or lying to them -- no small feat in the music world, where businessmen, a.k.a. "suits," are often seen as the enemy.
Fortune reports that McKagan's business school experience puts him ahead of most musicians, who sign contracts and business deals without full knowledge or a plan for the future, the same as Duff did when he hit the top with Guns N' Roses.

John Lennon's How I Won the War Coming To DVD |
Lennon began filming the black comedy, about a doomed regiment in World War II, just days after wrapping up The Beatles' final tour at San Francisco's Candlestick Park. As if to punctuate this severing from the past, Lennon cut off his Beatle Haircut and began wearing his now-trademark "granny glasses." The film played to middling reviews, but has remained a favorite among Beatles fans, just for the chance to see Lennon in a dramatic (well, comedic), non-Beatle role. His image from the film, incidentally, provided the cover for the first issue of Rolling Stone in November 1967.
How I Won the War will be available on March 20 from the MGM Limited Edition Collection.

"I started working with the Rolling Stones in early 1965 and continued to do so until 1967 when the band split with their manager Andrew Oldham I was seen as one of Andrew's team," He told RockAAA. "Looking back now and it was quite clear that in 1965 the band were at the peak of their initial success and Satisfaction had just been released. They were just phenomenal and globally they were second only to the Beatles but over here they were probably on a par with them.
