The 7" disc was designed to compete with the Long Playing record introduced by Columbia a year earlier. Singled Out: Unwritten Law - Special 3 Song Edition |
"Starship And Apocalypse" - It was one of the first songs to get recorded when I went in and started tracking drums back in June 2009. PK then laid down the baddest bassline, think U2 with a Sid Vicious sensibility. Steve cut the sickest guitars. Then Scott came in and laced the track with a little bit of sugar and spice. When you hear it you know its a banger and that's why it's the first single off the new record. It's got something for everybody. It brings the rock in the choruses and the sex in the verses, what more could you ask for.
"Dark Days" - What do you get when you mix a dirty skank groove, a smashing chorus, and some bridge vocals more flaming than Freddie Mercury? Dark Days. It's one of my favorites because its relentless front to back. From the instrumentation to the lyrics, it's a song that's REAL and doesn't pull any punches. Huge guitars, the dirtiest of dirt-nasty bass lines, signature beats, and hooks so legit that Satan himself couldn't even deliver if you sold him your soul.
"Chicken (Ready To Go)" - This one is another that was around from the first batch of songs. PK sent out his original demo to us all and we had no choice but to get down to the sickest Korean metal riffage EVER. Big and anthemic from top to bottom. Undeniable grooves mixed with two of the baddest vocalists EVER. I remember being so stoked when Scott told me that he got Del The Funkee Homo Sapien to thrown down on the verses. He said he came over late one night with some chicken and waffles, heard the track and said, 'I wanna rap on that s***!' END.OF.STORY.

The First Time Hendrix Set His Guitar on Fire |
Crazy as it may seem in hindsight, Hendrix was due to open for Cat Stevens, Engelbert Humperdinck and The Walker Brothers. Then again, everything had happened so fast that while London's hipsters and musician set knew all about Hendrix's prowess, the public barely had been introduced to this new American guitar genius.
It was the fall of 1966 when Chas Chandler, on a tip from Keith Richards, brought Hendrix to England where he played the hippest clubs in London, picking up rave reviews form his peers. Management found him a flat in Montagu Square (it belonged to Ringo Starr) and that was his base for this vital period in developing as a showman, as much as a guitarist.
