(BMN) A teaser for "What You Want", the first single/video from Evanescence's upcoming self-titled third album has gone online. The clip was filmed on July 30 on a makeshift stage inside a Brooklyn warehouse. "This video is sort of, like, the history of the band," Evanescence singer Amy Lee told MTV News. "This club [set] is emulating old shows we used to play in the beginning we used to play this club called Vino's in Little Rock it's sort of like back then, the gritty, dirty club, sweaty. And basically, it's also [about] New York, where I've been, [and] where [bassist] Tim [McCord] lived in the past few years since we've been gone. And it's sort of about escaping New York and ... coming back out into the world." Watch it here

Rolling Stones Reconvene? |
With a much-rumored 50th anniversary tour for 2012 perhaps now in the works, the Daily Mail gushed over the legendary band's youthful appearance. The newspaper said: "The band still showed they had star power, with a fan touching Ronnie Wood and a photographer taking his picture as he is ushered into a waiting car. Keith [Richards] joined his bandmate in the young-dressing stakes, donning one of his trademark headscarves underneath a stylish hat."
Jagger is currently busy with his SuperHeavy alongside Joss Stone, Damian Marley, Dave Stewart and A.R. Rahman. And it was announced this week that Richards' autobiography Life, published last year, has sold over one million copies.

"The Bronx may be known as the home of hip-hop and salsa, but make no mistake, our musical contributions are much more expansive. These heavy metal legends grew up right here in our borough, and I am proud to welcome Anthrax back to their Bronx home," said Borough President Diaz.

Metallica's Lars Ulrich Jazzed |
According to Blabbermouth, Ulrich will discuss the impact jazz had/has on his Metallica work, as well as his father's influence as a jazz musician. His dad, Torben Ulrich, was a jazz clarinetist in Copenhagen in the 1950s who befriended greats such as Stan Getz and Dexter Gordon. Gordon was even Lars' godfather.
Musician/host Cullum had this to say about the Metallica drummer: "Long before I was into jazz, I was a fan of heavy metal music. Metallica are one band that really did it for me in my early days. I've always been interested in the technical mastery it took to play both jazz and heavy metal. When I discovered Lars Ulrich, one of the founder members of Metallica, is into his jazz, I had to get him onto my Radio 2 show."

Sebastian Bach's Tuff Talk Against Metal Sludge |
"Right, Stevie Rachelle's website. (pauses) I'll tell you exactly what that's about. Stevie Rachelle was in a band called Tuff that was a Skid Row/Poison kind of band that never made it. He came up with a website about the bands that did make it. He's a jealous guy that never had any musical success. When he started his website Stevie Rachelle emailed me asking me to do an interview for the website. I went to look at the website and I said, 'No. I think your website sucks. I think this website is bullsh*t. I think it's wrong that you have nothing better to do with your time than to f*ck with people's lives. You can hate me, but I'm not doing an interview for your bullsh*t website.' I received a response from him saying, 'Well, then we're going to make your life a living hell.' That's exactly what he's tried to do. He goes after my children, he goes after my ex-wife, he goes after my current girlfriend -- I'm divorced because of some of the stuff on that website and my kids don't have their father partially due to that website. Let me just say that I really look forward to meeting him again in person -- as soon as I can. I certainly have some things to say to Stevie Rachelle from Tuff... We'll see who's tough in person."
Not one to hold his tongue, Stevie immediately fired right back with his own comments on Metal Sludge. Read that

Saves The Day Deranged and Desperate |
"For me, 'Deranged & Desperate' is about longing to be at peace with who you are," remarked lead singer Chris Conley. "In a complicated world where we are under pressure to succeed, sometimes we lose ourselves trying to prove to our parents and peers that we are worthy and without fault.
"The video paints a picture of our ability to overcome the pressures of the world by showing children in adult clothing holding morose drawings and then dropping the drawings and shedding the clothes to reveal colorful kid attire and smiling faces. It was inspiring working with Penta, and his gift of clear vision helped create a beautiful visual interpretation of the song."

White Wizzard Explain New Album Title |
The band's bassist and mainman Jon Leon recently took some time to speak to Classic Rock magazine about the meaning behind Flying Tigers, a tribute to a legendary World War II fighter squadron.
Jon Leon said, "When I wrote the music and lyrics for this song, it just seemed so visual that it lent itself to being the album title. The Flying Tigers was the name given to the First American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, and they took on the Japanese, who had far superior aircraft, with incredible success. Their kill to death ratio was amazing."

Turisas Announces New Lineup |
This change is in response to the sad news that current bassist Hannes Horma and accordionist Netta Skog have decided to leave the band due to personal and motivational reasons. This announcement will NOT affect Turisas' tours this fall in any way: the band will perform as advertised at this year's Heidenfest tour in Europe, and afterwards will do a full length headlining tour in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal.
The band comments: "A band is not something that can be kept together by force. If someone wants to quit, there's not much the rest of us can do about that. Both for Hannes and Netta it came down to the same thing: a choice between the band and other personal interests had to be made. We tried to find a compromise where both could be combined, but unfortunately in both cases it didn't seem possible at their end. Neither Hannes or Netta played a critical role in the creative process and studio work of the band, so in this sense not much will change. Still, they were always great onstage and we shared many memorable moments together. We would like to make it very clear that there is no drama here, and thankfully no hard feelings. Both Hannes and Netta made their decisions completely independently, based on their own personal reasons. Their departures are not connected in any way, it was just that this short quiet period between the Euro festivals and the forthcoming touring was the only meaningful time to make a smooth changeover to the new members."

Krisiun To Deliver The Great Execution in November |
"The Great Execution" is the band's 8th studio album and musically expands Krisiun's trademark high speed death metal violence with a heavily increased amount of diversity, ranging from extreme tempo variations over distinct rhythm patterns to clean guitars----and even Flamenco parts!
Krisiun only used analog gear and instruments while recording this album to avoid the compressed sound that so many musicians produce today. This wise decision resulted in a more organic sound, with the songs on "The Great Execution" possessing both a warmth and a rawness that is so often lost through digital production. The low end is deeper, with drums that pound instead of bounce and guitar tones that sear rather than hiss.

Singled Out: All Mankind's Can You Hear Me? |
This song is one of those songs that sticks around for a long time. It's one of those songs that people really connect with and it gives you the inkling that maybe you'll be playing it for the rest of your career. I say that because it was put together all the way back in 2006 and it's still hanging around! During one of our then rare writing sessions, Rich (singer, lead songwriter) came in with a track which at the time was called "Shining City." Rich played it through and Gav and I played along. It sounded pretty cool but Rich felt he wanted a different approach on the drums; he wanted more of a marching style groove. No problem! So we played through, got all our parts together fairly quickly and recorded a really rough demo just through a laptop microphone. Little did we know that apart from the lyrics the song would hardly change after that point.
Later in 2006, we did another demo of the song but this time it was a little more involved than just a laptop mic. We put all the rhythm tracks down, almost as they are now. We got in a mate to also put down a few lead guitar lines and Rich put his vocals on top. At some point between the two demos Rich had changed the lyrics to "Can You Hear Me?" based on a period of time in his life where things felt a little hopeless. After we did the demo we kind of put the song aside for about two years until we recorded an album as the new band, All Mankind. This was recorded in Sydney at 301 studios. The album was never properly released but at the time that song was gaining a lot of attention, especially from our current managers who heard the song and were immediately blown away, which was nice.
Enter 2010. This is the year we recorded our soon to be released debut album, Simple Desire, with superstar producer, Mike Crossey. This was to be the definitive version of the song. Mike brought the energy out, he brought the vibe out and we recorded the version that really does the song justice. The only thing that was to change was a middle section; we later decided to put in a guitar solo so we could keep the energy of the song really pumping. It's been a long journey for the song, but one that has been pretty amazing thus far. This song changed the direction of our band, and in the process has changed our lives, we are looking forward to what other changes it brings!
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you check out the video and learn more about the album
