Baroness and Crew Rushed To Hospital After Bus Crash
(Classic Rock) Prog-punk band Baroness and their crew were rushed to hospital yesterday after their tour bus plummeted off a viaduct near Bath in England. Nine people have been reported injured two seriously in the horror smash after the vehicle left the A36 road and fell 30 feet.

The American prog-punk band were midway through a tour of the UK. They'd played a show in Bristol and were heading to Southampton. It's thought torrential rain, which reduced visibility to almost zero, was a contributing factor. Eyewitnesses suggest the bus was moving very slowly as a precaution against the weather before it appeared to "fall off" the viaduct.

Seven of their entourage were taken to the Royal United Hospital, Bath, while two others had to be cut free from the wreckage. One of those joined his tourmates at RUH while the other went to Frenchay Hospital, Bristol. None have been released. The weather conditions meant air ambulance services were not able to assist. more on this story

Tommy Lee Accused Of Stealing Concert Stunt
(TMZ) Tommy Lee STOLE the idea behind his awesome upside-down rollercoaster drum solo thing -- so says an engineer from L.A., who claims he pitched the idea for the concert stunt back in 1991 ... and Lee ripped him off.

The engineer -- a guy named Scott King -- fired off a legal letter to Motley Crue's lawyers recently, claiming Lee turned down his pitch 20 years ago ... then jacked the drum-coaster idea for Motley Crue's 2011 tour.

King claims he never got a cent from the band -- and now, he's out for payback. If push comes to shove, King says he'll sue.

But Lee's attorneys aren't budging -- firing off their own letter in response, insisting King never pitched SQUAT to Lee ... and even if he did, King's rollercoaster model (which tracked all over the stage) is nothing like the stationary "drum ring" used by Lee at his concerts.

So far, no lawsuit has been filed. more on this story

Judge Slashes Axl Rose's Guitar Hero Lawsuit
A judge plans to dismiss part of Axl Rose's lawsuit against the makers of the video game Guitar Hero III, which included a classic Guns N' Roses track but included a former bandmate, angering Rose.

Rose claims that the game's maker Activision Blizzard Inc. told him during negotiations for use of the song that the game would not contain any reference to his former bandmate Slash. The game was released with Slash as an active avatar and featured him on the cover and also included music from Slash's post GNR band Velvet Revolver.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rose claims that Activision "fraudulently induced him" into agreeing to feature "Welcome to the Jungle" in the game.

At a hearing on Tuesday in Los Angeles the judge indicated that Rose's fraud claim was going to be tossed out but his claim of breach-of-contract could go forward, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But here is where it get's interesting and the tale takes some twists...

Classic Concert From The Doors Featuring Unreleased Tracks Coming
Fans of The Doors mark your calendars for October 23rd, that's the date the band's July 5, 1968 concert at Hollywood Bowl will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, digital video, CD, digital audio, and double-LP vinyl. We were sent these details:

For the first time, the film from the historic performance has been painstakingly restored using the original camera negatives and the audio has been remixed and mastered from original multi-tracks by the group's engineer Bruce Botnick. This new restoration offers a stunning visual upgrade from earlier versions and will give fans the closest experience to being there live along side Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek, who opined, "You can hear it as if you were at the Hollywood Bowl, on stage with us."

Live At The Bowl '68 will include three previously unreleased tracks from the performance. Technical issues with the recording of "Hello, I Love You," "The WASP (Texas Radio And The Big Beat)," and "Spanish Caravan" prevented them from being released in the past. Now, through meticulous restoration of the audio, all three will be included, marking the first time the concert has been available in its entirety.

Judge Rules On Kyuss Vs Kyuss Lives Battle
(Classic Rock) Kyuss offshoot band Kyuss Lives can't use the name in connection with any recordings, a judge has ruled, although they can continue to tour using the title.

But the lawman has warned drummer Brant Bjork and singer John Garcia that they'd be better off coming up with a new name for their outfit.

Original Kyuss members Josh Homme and Scott Reeder raised legal action against their former bandmates after they revealed plans to record a Kyuss Lives album. Homme had previously approved the use of the title for live shows, and Reeder had been a member of the group for a time. The lawsuit gave rise to bitter recriminations between the parties, with Bjork and Garcia accusing Homme of operating "double standards".

Now Judge James Otero of the California District Court has issued a preliminary injunction. more on this story

Mark Kendall Slams Former Great White Singer Jack Russell
(Classic Rock) Great White guitarist Mark Kendall says he's watched video clips of former singer Jack Russell performing with his new band and thinks it looks "ugly".

The parties are locked in a legal battle over the band name, with the frontman touring under the title Jack Russell's Great White. They went their separate ways last year after the vocalist failed to gain control of his addiction issues something he insists he's done now.

But Kendall tells The Classic Metal Show: "I've seen YouTube I know what he's capable of and I'm not seeing it.

"I'm seeing somebody who's struggling. He's not singing well. He looks like he can barely stand up. It's not the Jack I've known, the guy flying around the stage and taking command like he did in the past.

"It's just addiction it's ugly." more on this story

Geoff Tate's Wife Led To Queensryche Split?
(Classic Rock) Queensryche decided they'd have to sack Geoff Tate when the singer made it clear he'd side with his wife, the band's manager Susan, rather than the creative team he fronted on stage.

The band admit the crunch came at their controversial show in Brazil during which Tate assaulted several of his colleagues. They say it was actually more than one incident and he's never apologised to them.

Speaking for the first time since a series of court papers revealed the depth of the prog metal outfit's disagreements, guitarist Michael Wilton tells Billboard: "In any other business, when someone does such a vicious act like that, they'd be fired on the spot. We got to that point." Read on.

Kottonmouth Kings Singled Out Week: This Addiction
The Kottonmouth Kings release their new album, Mile High, this week. To celebrate we asked them to tell us about a couple of their favorite songs. Today The Dirtball tells us about the song "This Addiction."

It's The Dirtball from the Kottonmouth Kings! I chose the song "This Addiction" to discuss, for both obvious and necessary reasons. One of several smashing punk rock tracks on our banging new record "Mile High", "This Addiction" steers toward the tail-chasing journeys of addiction itself.

Yes it's clich, but not clich enough! That would be the obvious side of the song title. I wanted to portray the addiction of doing this life we call music. The song could easily fit any template you place in it, and we all rap about different sides of it, but mine focuses on the addiction of touring, and rocking my life away, because I am as hooked as heroin.

"This Addiction, yeah it grinds me to the bone, yeah it finds me far from home, no it won't leave me alone; yeah!" The love for what we do, and the love of the music we create! When you tour most of the year, and grind hard toward the dream it inevitably becomes an addiction. And with it, also comes the regular stress of life. Throw a lot of alcohol, pills, and cocaine on top, and THAR SHE BLOW!

The song is really intended for one to reflect on their own addictions whether it be p*ssy, drugs, or rock 'n' roll! To do it on such a banging, gritty, and heavy track such as this, really sets it off! - The Dirtball

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
