Vince Neil Blames Valet Blowup On Stupidity and Incompetence
(hennemusic) Motley Crue singer Vince Neil is offering his side of the story regarding a recent outburst in a Las Vegas parking lot.

Neil was caught on video yelling and screaming at a group of parking valets at the Planet Hollywood in Vegas last month. TMZ reported that Vince flew off the handle when the valets refused to return the keys to his Rolls-Royce.

Now, the Crue frontman has released a statement to Las Vegas' Fox 5 TV program "More Access," saying, "I was not given a valet ticket when I first parked my Rolls-Royce. They then refused to give me the car even though it was parked only ten feet away. I gave them my license and told them to simply open the car and look at my registration, and again they refused. This could have been avoided except for the stupidity and incompetence of the valets and security." more on this story

B Sides

Singled Out: Shane Gamble
Today indie rock/country/Americana star Shane Gamble tells us about "Turn My Way," the hit single from his forthcoming self-titled album which is set to hit stores on September 18th. Here is the story:

"Turn My Way" is a track that was written quite quickly on my studio couch one day. The basic premise of the song is about a guy that sees a girl that just blows him away... but she doesn't really notice him. It's his determination to meet the girl that propels the song.

Originally, I made an acoustic "demo" of "Turn My Way" that I just LOVED. To me the song felt done. It was essentially acoustic guitar vocal and a set of concert bells for the pre chorus. At this same time I was talking with Atlanta based producer Rick Beato. Rick said, "why don't you send me some new songs?"... So I said, "well, I have this new song 'Turn My Way' that I just recorded but I might just keep it like it is." He responded, "Shane..."I'm a producer! send it to me!" After he heard the song he called me and said "Dude, I have to produce this song...I got it"... So off to Atlanta from Washington, DC I fly... As it turns out, Rick did and amazing job producing the song!

I found that tempo was a really important factor. For this song, it needed to have enough drive to feel urgent, but enough space to allow the lyrical message to breathe. By the time I got off the airplane and arrived back home the song was well on its way to sounding complete, but there was one element missing; the female vocal. So Rick provided me the tracks and I completed the song at my Maryland studio by pulling in good friend Jaqueline Claypool on harmony vocals. The song is now complete, it tells the whole story. Enjoy!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

The Black Keys Release Little Black Submarines Video
(hennemusic) The Black Keys have released a video for "Little Black Submarines," the latest track from their current album, "El Camino."

Filmed by Danny Clinch in Nashville's Springwater Supper Club, guitarist Dan Auerbach tells Rolling Stone that a live performance wasn't the original vision for the video.

"There was a storyline but it didn't work," the guitarist says, so the band let a select group of fans into the minuscule bar for the filming of the one song - and they ended up playing an entire show. "We all just sort of kind of mutually agreed that it should probably just be the performance and not any of the other extra stuff," he says. "Luckily we had live footage so we turned it into a live video. We just sort of said 'You know, it was fun kind of performing here at a small club with the fans. Why don't we just have it be that?'" Watch the video here.

(hennemusic) Green Day have released a new music video for "Kill The DJ," a track from the band's forthcoming album, "Uno."

"[Bassist] Mike [Dirnt] asked me to write a song with a four-on-the-floor rhythm," Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone while explaining the origins of the tune.

"I'd never done it before. It's kind of like [The Clash's] 'Sandinista!,' Ian Dury's 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' and the Tom Tom Club song, 'Genius of Love.'" We were trying to figure out how to make dance music without turning into a dance band." Watch it here.
