Ozzy Osbourne Injured In Home Fire
(Classic Rock) Ozzy Osbourne was injured in a fire at his Beverly Hills home on Thursday morning, wife Sharon has revealed.

The Black Sabbath singer suffered facial burns, hair loss and re-opened a cut in his hand made during recent surgery after an unattended candle exploded its glass holder.

Sharon, co-hosting TV show The Talk, revealed she'd gone to bed without putting the candle out. "At five o'clock I heard a noise like metal had fallen. I thought it was my housekeeper so I didn't pay any attention. A few minutes later my eyes are stinging and my throat's closing up. Then my dog started to bark," She said

The Osbournes went downstairs to investigate, and discovered the living room in flames. Ozzy attempted to bat out the fire using his arm, which was in a cast following an operation earlier this week.

"He opens the doors and I go into the kitchen and throw water on it and it erupted," Sharon said. "Ozzy's front of his hair is gone. His eyebrows. He's got skinned cheeks. He made his hand worse. It started to bleed." more on this story

Great White Fire Foundation Against Jack Russell Benefit Concert
(Classic Rock) Former Great White singer Jack Russell has been told the Station Fire Memorial Foundation don't want any money from his upcoming charity show. And the organisation have all but said he's only doing it for publicity.

Russell recently announced he'd play an acoustic benefit concert in California in February. He planned to send the proceeds to the foundation set up to commemorate the 100 people who died in the blaze during a Great White concert a decade ago, including guitarist Ty Longley.

Earlier this week he said: "I too lost many friends that night but I can't begin to equate that to the loss of a family member. For what it's worth, you have been in my prayers and always will be."

Later he revealed: "My manager received an email from the vice president of the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, stating that they will refuse any donations from me. The proceeds from the show will be donated to a different charitable organiaation, to be determined shortly.

"I am saddened by the response of the foundation and the motives behind it, but we will put on a great show and make it for a worthy cause." Now the foundation have lashed back against the second announcement.

Robert Fripp Denies Leaking David Bowie Album Secret
(Classic Rock) Robert Fripp has explained he couldn't have leaked news of David Bowie's new album because he wasn't involved in the project at any stage.

Bowie shocked fans on January 8 when he announced the imminent release of The Next Day, his first work in a decade. Producer Tony Visconti later discussed the challenges of keeping the record a secret, saying the only breach of secrecy had come when Fripp mentioned it in his online diary.

But the King Crimson mastermind, who worked with Bowie in the late 1970s, had never been consulted over The Next Day and his diary comment was related to a dream he'd had.

Responding to yesterday's Classic Rock story, Fripp says: "I haven't spoken to David for quite a while, and I wasn't approached for the new album. Not sure whether Tony thought I had been, but nothing ever came to me." He had more to say and read his original comments and his explanation for them.

Singled Out: Love and Death (Brian 'Head' Welch of Korn)
Today vALEntin3 from Love and Death featuring Brian "Head" Welch (ex-Korn) tells us about their new single "The Abandoning" which comes from their debut album "Between Here & Lost" which comes out January 22nd. Here is the story:

"The Abandoning" was written from a couple different point of views... it would be really hard to tell you everyone's, so I will just tell you mine.

"The Abandoning" is about the transformation from "Awake to Zombie", NOT in the sense of Romero's Living Dead, but more like Custer's study on "unconscious will." Although a zombie like transformation DOES have to take place... Imagine slowly becoming unconscious and knowing/watching it happen... pretty scary.

The song is about become the statistic, about turning into the unconscious man yet still being trapped inside to watch life just waste away before your eyes. Like having a job you hate or being in a relationship that going know where...you might as well be dead... alive.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and watch their new lyric video here. If you like what you hear and you want more, you can preorder the album on iTunes right here!
