"I had those Replacement shows come up the same time the (South American) tour came up, and it got to be a scheduling issue right out of the gate," Stinson tells Billboard. "I didn't want to f*** anyone up in Guns by saying, 'Hey, I can't do this tour' or anything like that. Luckily someone was able to reach out to Duff and he was amenable to the idea and was into doing it. It's Duff being the kind of good sport he is, trying to help Axl (Rose) out. So I'm like, 'Thanks dude, for covering my ass on this one.' I think people are gonna be really stoked about it. It's gonna be fun for everyone."
Rumors flew on Monday when Duff tweeted a photo of setlists full of GNR tunes, writing, "Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil! See y'all in the next few weeks, Si? GNR."
McKagan will fill-in for Stinson with the band beginning April 6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and continue for shows in Asuncion, Paraguay on April 9, La Paz, Bolivia on April 12, Recife, Brazil on April 15 and Fortaleza, Brazil on April 17.
"It's pretty great to play these songs again, and looking forward to playing some gigs with my pal again," Duff said via his publicist. "South America is always a radical place for rock n roll...and I'm honored to be doing this thing, in that place."

"After being swarmed by tons of Nirvana fan mail and social-media posts pushing for a musical to become a reality, both [daughter] Frances [Bean Cobain] and I have thought long and hard and agreed that if we can reach up to the highest shelf and select a team of the greatest and most respected writers, producers and directors, then a Broadway musical is very likely to happen," Love told the magazine.
"There would have to be a story, and a great story, one that hasn't been told before," the Hole frontwoman continued. "I would devote countless hours with an A-team to create a project that reflects Kurt in the most respectful but honest way possible, so that his story, his music and his legacy can be resurrected on stage for not only the world to see, but more importantly for our daughter to see. I know her father's spirit will be on that stage, and sitting in that theater with her will be the most emotional experience of our lives."

He'd already suggested the follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic wouldn't be released until 2015, although he'd also said work would begin in the coming weeks.
Ulrich tells La Viola "We've got some good ideas. Our biggest problem is not the ideas, our biggest problem is time," he said. "Metallica is busier than ever - it just seems like there's more and more going on and the days get shorter and shorter.
"But hopefully we will be done writing this year. Next year we should record and hopefully have a new record out maybe next year."

And he's stated their determination to avoid the concept was strengthened after Rock Hall bosses tried to force the issue.
Stanley says that, at first, he was comfortable with the idea of the present-day lineup performing in makeup, while the departed founding members made guest appearances without.
The singer insists that regrouping with Frehley and Criss, even for a one-off set, would be a step backward. "We can only wear these uniforms with pride," he says. "We're not going to risk tarnishing what we've build to for 40 years just to satisfy someone's penchant for nostalgia."

The title track will be released as the new album's first single later this month. As part of White's Third Man Records Vault series, the label will issue Vault package No. 20, which will include a special limited-edition version of "Lazaretto" pressed on split-color blue-and-white vinyl, exclusive album art, a linen letter-pressed postcard, and a fold-out poster featuring a classic National Archives photo that serves as a recurrent image throughout the album art.
The package will also feature a blue 7-inch single featuring two early demos of songs that appear on the new album: both "Alone In My Home" and "Entitlement" are solo recordings by White while he was in Mexico.

The induction comes 20 years after the passing of Kurt Cobain, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Seattle home on April 5, 1994; his body was discovered three days later by an electrician who had arrived to do some work on the property.
Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, will be at the event, and said recently that the evening will be awkward based on her long-standing feud with Grohl over the rights to, and use of, the band's music.
"We're going to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I think we're all sitting at the same table," said Love, who will say hello to Grohl. "Of course, it's not my hashtag Yoko."

Flea is expected to share stories from his intense and dynamic life, including his move from a "normal" upbringing in the suburbs of New York to Los Angeles to live a bohemian life with a jazz musician step-father; his young, rebellious life on the streets of LA where he befriends Anthony Kiedis and founds the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Kiedis and two other high school friends; details about his sometimes complex friendship and collaboration with Kiedis; his myriad experiences with hard drugs; and, of course, the creative journey of the legendary Red Hot Chili Peppers through its various incarnations over the last 30 years.
"I love literature deeply," said Flea. "I view books as sacred things, and in writing my story, I'm going to do my best to honor the form that has played such a huge part in shaping who I am."

"[Guitarist] Tony [Iommi] came up with most of the music, and then we all worked together to arrange it," Bulter tells Grammy.com about the track, which picked up honors in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" category. "Ozzy [Osbourne] always jams along to us, and he came up with the title 'God Is Dead?' He remembered the [1966] Time magazine [cover story titled] 'Is God Dead?' but he remembered it as 'God Is Dead.' I had a mini-argument with him about it. I looked it up online and showed him that it was 'Is God Dead?' Then I read the Nietzsche philosophy about it."
"I wrote it about a person who thought it was completely revolting to think that somebody would say that, and it sticks in his head and he keeps hearing it in his mind," Geezer continued. "So he turns violent in the end and sets out to murder everybody. It was also inspired by the shootings that were going on at the time in the States. People were saying that 'God told them to do it,' and stuff like that."

Taylor will be making an appearance to promote his motion picture debut in the film Fear Clinic. He will be joined by the film's director Robert Hall at the festival where the two will show preview clips from the movie and answer fan's questions.
Taylor had this to say, "I'm such a horror geek, comic geek and action figure geek. I'm inspired by so much-from Hunter S. Thompson and Quentin Tarantino to The Dark Knight and Halloween. Just show me something that doesn't suck, and I'm happy," he laughs.
"Working with Corey was amazing," says director Robert Hall. "He's such a huge horror fan and his enthusiasm and excitement shine through. His involvement brings the film to a whole new level, and fans are going to freak when they see him in the role."
Germany Calling will be headlined by veteran Hanover rockers Scorpions, who will be joined by a host of other Deutsch acts. In a controversial move, Gelchter has decided to stage Germany Calling on the same day - Saturday, June 28 - as Aerosmith's Calling festival appearance. What's more, Germany Calling will be held in Battersea Park, mere miles away from the Calling festival's Clapham Common venue.
"Scorpions are coming to turn the spotlights on the people of London," said the promoter. "To stage Germany Calling at the same time as the Calling festival is no problem. Our event offers a genuine alternative to the Calling festival's somewhat mainstream line-up of bands. As well as a celebration of German rock'n'roll we plan to showcase the myriad delights of German culture."

And despite the fact that many fans saw through the spoof, the idea generated plenty of discussion and garnered a great deal of support. Event organisers took part in the annual tradition by saying: "Fans holding mobile phones and tablets aloft to video gigs is an increasingly familiar sight. But it can annoy both bands and other fans, while many people bemoan the fact they attend gigs with friends only to find their companions spend the whole time checking their social media feeds. Sonisphere wants to put a stop to this by going entirely phone free."
A spokesman was quoted as saying: "We have lockers set up with a camera exchange scheme. If you want to take pictures you can leave your phone in the locker and swap it for one of our more traditional film cameras. They are great fun."

The lineup includes ex-Unitopia men Mark Trueack, Matt Williams, Dave Hopgood and Tim Irrgang, with Guy Manning, Steven Gee and Ian Ritchie. Their debut album, Fall In Love With The World, features appearances by Steve Hackett and Steve Unrah.
Vocalist Trueack says: "My original concept was to make this a universal project, allowing not only the members to come and go as they please, but also inviting the listener to share ideas on what they would like to hear - in other words, making UPF the people's group.
"There are bands all over the world who like to express concerns over social injustice and the environment we live in. How can a project like this be any different?" Read more and watch the video

Brosh had this to say about the clip, which was directed by Seth C. Brown, "A music video is something that has to go hand in hand with the music that it's associated with. It is part of the art as a whole. It is the image that will stay in the minds of the listeners for as long as they listen to that particular musical piece. When I have a music video done, I take the process almost as seriously as I take my music. A lot of time, energy and attention to detail gets into play when we shoot or edit a video."
He adds, "This video was made by Seth C. Brown who can turn any rushed, impossible to shoot scene with bad lighting into a beautiful work of art! I'm very proud of the new video for 'Space Invaders,' and can't wait to make more videos for this record!"
Now hailing from Chicago, C J Snare and Chris Green first met while on tour in Europe when they shared the stage at a rock festival in Madrid. A close friendship was forged through sharing a decade of life experience that would ultimately serve as the creative nucleus for this project.

The Juno Awards are the Canadian version of the Grammy Awards. The band was unable to attend the event because they are on a North American tour in support of the album. But they did release the following statements:
Guitarist Tim Millar: "We are very proud to be recognised by the Juno Awards for 'Best Metal / Hard Music Album of 2013'. 2013 was a crazy year, and without all the hard work of the people who made the record come to life, and all the people who contributed to the record before hearing a single note, this album would not have been possible. We are forever in your debt."
Guitarist Luke Hoskin: "We are thrilled with our recent Juno win! We had incredible company in our category, and it could have gone to anyone. We remain proud Canadians even though we are currently touring south of the border. Thanks for all the support!"
The band say: "At the end of 2013 we released our mini album, Where the World Begins, and due to other commitments we didn't get the opportunity to tour it off our own back.
"We wanted to do our own headline shows so we can throw one hell of a party - and you're all invited. We can't wait to show you what we've got, and also some new songs as well."
