The stop is the first of five concerts McKagan will perform with the group in South America this month. "Our regular bass player, Mr. Tommy Stinson, is doing a show at Coachella with The Replacements, so we had to try to find a new guy," said Axl Rose. "He's hanging in there. [Please give] a hearty welcome to the new guy, Mr. Duff McKagan."
Early in the Buenoes Aires set, Duff handled lead vocals on a pair of covers, imcluding The Misfits' "Attitude" and The Stooges' "Raw Power."
Up next, McKagan play GNR shows in Asuncion, Paraguay on April 9, La Paz, Bolivia on April 12, Recife, Brazil on April 15 and Fortaleza, Brazil on April 17.

Speaking on the band's current North American tour, Ozzy tells the Toronto Sun: "I always think cancer means death. I didn't know anybody who'd ever recovered. My wife recovered from colon cancer and that was the first person I ever knew.
"But he just accepts it and gets on with it. I mean, it's got to be worrying - but he's doing fine, I think. I haven't had one of them dark phone calls so I presume he's okay."

The Star Tribune reports that King only performed a handful of complete songs, with the majority of the evening made up of "meandering musical snippets, long-winded soliloquies" and "a backing band that missed its cues."
One attendee said: "Is he a living legend? Absolutely. Do I love his music? You bet. But when you're paying $150 you expect to see a show." But another reported the crowd weren't simply heckling - instead they were suggesting song titles as a way of turning King's attention back to the show. He added: "Everybody was respectful that this guy is 88 years old. It was painful to watch."

Drummer Brann Dailor has already described the follow-up to 2011′s The Hunter as "a gorgeous album," adding: "It's a reflection of our past, with a few songs that are a bit out there, and show a new direction."
Confirming the title, Sanders tells Paste Magazine: "After we finished the two-year cycle on our last record, we were kind of gearing up to go back to our rehearsal space.
"We were starting the effort - the time, the blood, the energy, the months of driving, the recording and the long process between recording and release day.
"We're fortunate enough to do this again - but there is this feeling of this cycle. It's not a bad thing; it's embracing the positive. And like anything in the Mastodon world, it's open to interpretation."

Kicking off at Cinquanta, pal Maynard James Keenan's 50th birthday celebration at The Greek Theatre in L.A., the reunited band will tour the U.S. and Canada through early June.
After a discussion on whether to keep it simple with a reunion show and a mini-tour, band co-founders Greg Edwards and Ken Andrews opted to go one step further and begin the writing and recording process. "We got to thinking that a lot of our fans, became our fans recently and a lot of them are younger and they never saw us play live so we have an opportunity to pick up where we left off, musically," singer Ken Andrews told Radio.com prior to their El Rey show in February.
After a few practice sessions with original drummer Kellii Scott, guitarist Greg Edwards said of their performance, "In ways, I think it's stronger than it ever was." Admittedly a little too close for a completely unbiased view, Andrews thinks they're playing some of the old stuff better than they did in the '90s.

"The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is fluff, it's a farce," he told Anthony Mason. "We are the bitter pill that they ultimately had to swallow. They don't like us. The only reason they're inducting us is because they began to look foolish at some point, for not having us in."
Stanley also gave his take on Simmons, the man, the myth and his friend. "He's this guy who everybody sees as the brains behind KISS. Really, what he is, is the mouth behind KISS!," Stanley explained. "I always tell people he lives two minutes away [from me] and I can see his ego from here!"
But while he's still close with Simmons-not only do they still lead the band together, but now they're co-owners of a football team, the L.A. KISS-the same isn't true for the other founding members of the group.
"They don't belong in the band, and they don't belong in a position to represent the band," he said of Frehley and Criss. "We were asked by the Hall of Fame to have the original members to put on the makeup and play with us. We're not other bands! We have a uniform that represents who we are. If the original lineup goes up for the sake of nostalgia, for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I run the risk of negatively impacting what I've spent 40 years doing.
When asked why they wouldn't do it one more time for old time's sake, his response was, "How about for old times sake, you go back and spend the night with your ex-wife? You wouldn't make good music!"

According to SPIN, the frontman will help select two acts to perform at the Tennessee fest when it rolls around this June. It's all part of a contest enacted by Billboard and Sonicbids, the latter a platform allowing smaller bands to gain notoriety.
Both acts will receive performing slots at Bonnaroo and the free publicity that comes from getting one's name on the lineup, in addition to a $1,000 performance fee and two VIP tickets.

But he's a victim of two opposing medical guidelines - meaning that if he's healthy enough to undergo the operation, he's also healthy enough to be dropped down the transplant queue.
That means more cash is needed to keep him alive until doctors can place him in the ideal situation. So his YouCaring page has raised its target to $250,000, with $181,000 already secured.
His wife Marie says: "It is a constant dual pivot. Doctors want Walter strong enough to withstand the surgery, and his lab numbers need to qualify him - meaning his labs need to show him sicker."

Of the record label bidding war around Green Day just before, BJA says: "We didn't know what it meant. We thought it was prank calls. There were a lot of those second- and third-rate Nirvanas and Soundgardens around - we didn't fit that mold. The labels weren't really looking for us."
For Dookie, Green Day recorded - for the first time - in a lavish studio. Armstrong says, "Our first album [1990's 39/Smooth] cost $700 to make. Kerplunk! was like $1200. "Let's record these as fast as we can - because we don't have a choice." This time, I learned how to dial in good sounds, get the best guitar tones. I was able to take a little time doing vocals. I loved that experience."
That said, Armstrong says the band had no real plan. "Let's just record this thing, and make sure we have money left over, so we can pay our rent, in case anything happens."
Starring Russell Crowe, Ray Winstone, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Emma Watson, Noah tells its familiar two-by-two tale of global flooding on a blockbusting spectacular scale before Smith weighs in over the credits alongside the Kronos Quartet for a sensitive reading of Mercy Is, co-written with career-long collaborator Lenny Kaye.
Catholic Online announced the news under the headline: 'Noah movie features Christian Artist Patti Smith.' "Maybe they had me confused with someone else," Smith tells Classic Rock, "but I wouldn't deny being Christian. I was raised a Christian, I follow the teachings of Christ. So, you know, I have no problem with that title."
