As the members of Nirvana were getting ready to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday, the satirical website National Report published a story earlier this week that claimed that the band planned to hit the road this summer using a hologram of Cobain.
The report is a fake, just like all of the satirical articles on National Report, but that didn't stop some media outlets from picking up the story as legitimate and running their own reports.
The National Report article went so far as to include the following fake quote from Dave Grohl, "We're doing this for the fans, pure and simple. It's been twenty years since the original Nirvana lineup has played together. It's going to be an honor to once again share the stage with Kobain. Lots of fond memories. I can't wait."
This isn't the first time that speculation that Nirvana could use a hologram of Cobain has surfaced. Back in April of 2012 Loudwire had a report about the possibility of it happening and there were rumors that the band and a holographic Cobain would appear at last year's Coachella festival.

Slash will be joining the legendary heavy rock and roll band to perform "select tracks" during their appearances at both weekends of the Coachella festival on April 13th and 20th.
Motorhead have also recruited Slash to perform with them at their Coachella festival warm up show tonight (April 11th) at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Aerosmith and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will be hitting the road together this summer for the "Let Rock Rule" tour of North America. More details and the announced dates
here.
Stanley told the black tie clad crowd, "Here we are, basically inducted for the same things that we were kept out for. The people are speaking to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and what they're saying is that they want more. They don't want to be spoon-fed with a handful of choices.
"The people buy tickets, the people buy albums, the people who nominate do not. Let's not forget that these are the people who make it all possible. We just benefit from it.
"I am here tonight because of the people who inspired me, but I am also here because of the people I inspired. So God bless you all. It's a wonderful night."
While the past month has seen a high amount of drama between the original four members of the group, Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss didn't use their acceptance speeches to continue to war of words. You can read a summery of their speeches and even watch fan filmed video

Accompanied by the Southern California Children's Chorus in the video of their signature hit, the song is part of the ESPN special, "Dream On: Stories From Boston's Strongest", that will air Saturday on ABC.
Part of the E:60 news magazine series, the hour-long show will be broadcast again on ESPN on Tuesday, the anniversary of the attacks. Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured when two bombs exploded near the finish line of the 2013 marathon.

"It needed to be visceral," the band's rapper and multi-instrumentalist said. "We need to weed out a lot of the soft, emo kind of approach to our music, and we need to weed out anything that feels aggressive for aggressive's sake. We're not 18-year-old kids making a loud record - we're 37-year-old adults making a loud record. And what makes a 37-year-old angry is different than what made us angry back in the day."
As such, the band is attempting to shed the poppier habits they fell into in recent years, particularly with 2012′s Living Things. In March, Linkin Park released "Guilty All the Same," the new single from upcoming album The Hunting Party. The song certainly lives up to the new approach, with a harder, more metal-inspired edge to its sound. The track even includes a rap verse from Rakim, rather than rhymes from Shinoda, the band's usual rapper.
That goes along with a recent interview Radio.com conducted with Shinoda. "Rock music, even the most popular bands, they're not really influencing the zeitgeist," Shinoda told Radio.com. "It's not moving the needle of pop culture. I don't want rock to be pop, I don't want rock to go out there like that. But I do want it to be exciting, and right now it's moderately exciting."

Bach made the revelation after antiMusic's Morley Seaver asked him how he first linked up with John 5. Bach responded, "Through my producer, Bob Marlette. But actually, if you want to know the truth, how I first linked up with John 5, here's a piece of trivia for the Skid Row fans out there: John 5 is in the video 'Piece Of Me', by Skid Row. (laughs)
"Going way back, if you remember on that video there is a part of the video where a guy with blond hair comes on stage and I push him into the crowdThat's John 5!"
Sebastian goes on to explain, "Before he made up his persona John 5, he told me he waited in line because he'd read in Screamer Magazine that Skid Row was shooting a video. So he waited in line with all the fans because he loves Skid Row and he got to the front and got in the video. That was before there was a John 5. It's John Lowery but that's the FIRST time I ever hooked up with John 5. (laughs)... Bet you weren't expecting that answer."
That wasn't the only thing that was discovered in the interview. Read it in full

Last month, Judas Priest singer Rob Halford updated fans on the band's follow-up to 2008's "Nostradamus." "The record is finished; it's absolutely finished as of today," said Halford at the Ronnie James Dio This Is Your Life Tribute Concert and Awards Gala in Hollywood.
"It's a relief. It's a relief because whenever Priest makes analbum, like any band, you put your heart and soul into it; it is that typical 'blood, sweat and tears.' It's not an easy thing to do 40 years later. But Priest has always been up for the challenge of that, and it's one of things that we love to do more than anything else as we move on through our metal years. So this is a great time for Priest: 40th anniversary, a brand new record. Life couldn't be better."

The beginning of the audio that was taken from the concert sounds quite like an intro to the band's 2010 hit "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)" at first - and that's because the band led into the cover with the song from The Suburbs - but it soon zooms into totally new territory with the '70s hit, covered on lead vocals by singer Regine Chassagne.
Frontman Win Butler isn't totally absent vocals-wise; he can be heard doing some backing vocals after about a minute into the song. The set list for Arcade Fire's most recent tour has been chock full of covers - some surprising, others not so much - since it began earlier this year. Other choice cuts include Boyz II Men's "Motownphilly," Stevie Wonder's "Uptight (Everything's Alright)" and "The Last Time" by the Rolling Stones.
Of course, "Heart of Glass" is one of the more sensible covers after the band released Reflektor, their disco rock LP that hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release last October.

Jett opened the program with a searing rendition of the band's signature tune, "Smells Like Teen Spirit"; Gordon of Sonic Youth fame followed on "Aneurysm"; St. Vincent (a.k.a. Annie Clark) performed "Lithium", and New Zealand pop sensation Lorde closed out the evening with a version of "All Apologies."
"Nirvana were artists in every sense of the word," said R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe in his induction speech. "Nirvana tapped into a voice that was yearning to be heard. Nirvana were kicking against the mainstream. They spoke truth and a lot of people listened."
"They were singular and loud and melodic and deeply original," he added. "And that voice. That voice. Kurt, we miss you. I miss you. This is not just pop music. This is something much greater than that."
Kurt Cobain's mother and sister were on hand, with his mom saying, "He would have pretended not be proud. But he would be. I miss him so much. He was an angel."

The band had this to say, "We are deeply saddened to announce that because of serious illness we have to cancel the remaining dates on our European Tour. Our hearts are broken.
"Nothing gives us more joy than playing, and we were looking forward to the places we would go, shows we would play, and people we would meet. But in this situation, health is the number one priority. We're very sorry to all the fans, and the promoters who are let down. Please send us your positive thoughts.
"For ticket refund please contact your point of purchase and we will try to make good for these canceled shows as soon as possible, and as of now this Summer's festival schedule remains confirmed as it is."

He continues, "Such an exciting start to a year which we intend to work very hard in the US and Canada."
He also hints that the band may be touring in North America soon, "We spent six months of 2013 in North America and it is truly our second home. Our US and Canadian fans can expect to see a lot more of us in 2014."

The rocker teamed up with The Roots and long time guitarist Waddy Wachtel for the track; earlier in the program, Fallon - as Tom Petty - joined Nicks for a live re-creation of her classic 1981 video for "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around".
"Edge Of Seventeen" was the third single from Nicks' 1981 solo debut, "Bella Donna." Written by the singer to express the grief resulting from the death of her uncle Jonathan and the murder of John Lennon during the same week of December 1980, the song peaked at No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
