It is a bold move for Frusciante, who has kept an extremely low profile since leaving the Chili Peppers back in 2009. In his time away from his old band, Frusciante has recorded two solo albums, as well as a number of albums with Swahili Blonde, which is fronted by John's wife Nicole Turley.
Since there are no details as to what Frusciante's contribution to the new Duran Duran album consists of, one can only speculate. It sure sounds like this might be the first step towards John's re-emergence in the spotlight.

The acetate was discovered by record collector Chris Reisman as he worked his way through a barn full of vinyl in upstate New York. As of early yesterday, the auction has reached $3550 with 18 bids secured and just over a day remaining.
Reisman, who has a history of discovering rare material, tells the Village Voice: "This guy had a barn full of 20,000 records. I went up there every Tuesday for a month and in the last shelf was a corner full of test presses and acetates. It was in there. At the time I had no clue what it was - I just bought them all."

The two-minute, 44-second barnburner of a song features quickly strummed electric guitar, a throbbing drum beat and Love's gritty vocals, which devolve into piercing shrieks in her higher register. "I don't believe you," she repeats on the bridge before a fist-pumping, singalong chorus about how "all this world is burning down."
"You Know My Name" is one part of the double single that also features "Wedding Day", a song that has not yet surfaced on the internet. Both songs are supposed to be featured on her upcoming solo album Died Blonde, which was originally scheduled for a Christmas release last year but now has no definitive release date.

Following on from 2010 debut My ReGeneration (given away in Classic Rock at the time), The Further Adventures Of... delves deeper into the Mott back-catalogue - reigniting catchy but more overlooked numbers like Marionette, One Of The Boys and single Rock N' Roll Queen.
"It's definitely more obscure," Down 'n' Outz founder, Mott lover and Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott tells us. "The game plan was to go where we couldn't go with the first album. I just wanted these songs to get a fresh coat of paint and be heard."
Discussing the track selection process this time around, Elliott says: "I thought, 'what's my desert island playlist of Mott stuff?' I didn't want to do Roll Away The Stone, All The Young Dudes... the obvious ones. I wanted to go deeper and make it a proper record."

"The material on the companion discs presents a portal to the time of the recording of Led Zeppelin," says Page. "It is a selection of work in progress with rough mixes, backing tracks, alternate versions, and new material recorded at the time"

The band's drumstool is currently occupied by Tommy Clufetos after Ward bowed out of the original lineup reunion, saying he hadn't been offered a contract that was "signable." But he says he would still be up for a return - if he felt healthy enough.
Ward says there remains a "political agenda" attached to his non-appearance. He says: "I have to be careful in overstating. I've definitely got an open mind.
"I miss playing with Geezer, just horribly. I absolutely miss him to death. And I miss playing with Tony just, every day. Obviously I miss Oz. With Ozzy, I've lost a friend as far as I'm concerned. A man that I dearly loved, and I still dearly love - but I've had to re-adjust just how much I'm going to trust and love him."

Frampton and Kennedy debuted the music live with Cincinnati Ballet last April at the Aronoff Center. That production also included two segments that were choreographed to existing Frampton music, which the British rocker performed with his band. "Writing for dance was a wonderfully freeing experience," said Frampton. "There were no boundaries. We were able to push the composing envelope."
Next month, Frampton and Kennedy will say a few words at Cincinnati Ballet's performance when the company makes its debut at New York's Joyce Theater on May 6. The program will include the New York premiere of "Hummingbird in a Box" performed to Frampton's recording.

"I could not be more proud of the new CD, 'Give 'Em Hell'," says Bach. "As a rock music fan myself, I listen to it every single day. As a musician, I honestly feel like I have reached a new level of album recording. As an audiophile, I could not be more blown away by the sound! The production and mastering sound so good that it's perfect to show off your high-end stereo system."

Payne says: "Witch Hunt is by far the most collaborative piece on Invicta. Ask me who led the vision of any piece on the album and I can tell you - but not Witch Hunt. This piece is special to us because it grew from the hearts of everyone in the band.
"The album came together while the UK was hosting the 2012 Olympics. We began to see the tabloid press embark on witch-hunts, looking for people to persecute. We had a nation who were in a deeply emotional state, celebrating those who were representing their country and displaying collectivist behaviour."
Of the video he explains: "It couldn't just be about hunting witches - that would be too obvious. The message here is that we fear our own demons enough to suppress them, persecuting them rather than accepting them. The three witches in this film each represent a traumatic moment from the lead character's past. In the end he is faced with the realisation that he was in fact persecuting the shame that existed within him."

The concerts are set to feature material by Henry Fool, No-Man and songs from Bowness' upcoming solo album Abandoned Dancehall Dreams. Edwin says: "I'm looking forward to making some noise in the paradoxically quixotic yet structured, and simultaneously unconstrained environment, of Henry Fool-dom."

In the latest episode of his online series The Roth Show, the singer recently revealed that he has been working on a secret Van Halen project. "Doing some catching up here, a little bit of a scrapbook," said Roth. "We've been doing a lot of travelling. [I've been] working on a great Van Halen project - can't announce anything or I'd have to come find you and swear you to secrecy."
The rocker also talked about his life in Tokyo, as well as a recent appearance with Mike Love of the Beach Boys at The Society Of Singers' 21st ELLA Awards in Beverly Hills in February, where the two teamed up to perform that band's classic (and solo hit for Roth), "California Girls."

We wanted an answer to Down Incognito. So we started a funky beat and I picked a weird scale for the riff. Often times to mix it up, I'll pick an odd scale, and ask Reb to write something with only a certain set of notes. Reb wrote the opening and then grabbed the bass and wrote the bass part as well.
I blurted out on the first go... "there's a sign of a better day comin" I instantly knew that was the title. When we fell upon the chorus riff and melody, we knew we had it.. The whole song was finished in about 6 hours.
