The Linkin Park singer was drafted in last year after STP announced they'd "terminated" their relationship with Weiland, later describing it as "toxic." They launched an EP entitled High Rise and more work is planned - but Weiland insists the project was a flop.
He tells iChill: "It sold 35,000 units. That's kind of unbelievable considering STP sold over 40million, and I'm sure Linkin Park has sold pretty much the same amount. It didn't work - people weren't buying into it."

Settling lawsuits isn't the most exciting way go through a chunk of cast that large, but that's just what Courtney Love did with the money she received after Kurt Cobain's death in 1994.
"I know that's a lifetime of money to most people," she said to Sunday Style last weekend. "But I'm a big girl, it's rock 'n' roll, it's Nirvana money, I had to let it go."
But don't worry that the former Hole singer is
hurting for cash.
The bassist recalls handing out free demos around the time they recorded the 2003 record, set for relaunch in the form of Waking The Fallen: Resurrected. Christ tells Loudwire: "There was a time when we were in a van and handing out CDs at Warped Tour. We had a two-song EP that we were handing out for free, just to promote ourselves. That's a very different thing than where we are at now."
The reissue includes a DVD which features footage of the band with drummer The Rev, who died in 2009. Although seeing his late friend in film still hurts, Christ says the pain is easing with time.
"Any time we see stuff with Jimmy it's bittersweet," the bassist reports.

The Swedish band took a creative break last year, but returned with the single Bushido last month - a track the group say is one of their "strongest efforts" to date.
"Bushido captures the essence of Hammerfall as much as any song we've written," says guitarist Oscar Dronjak. "It's one of the strongest efforts from our camp ever and is filled with energy, hunger and pure adrenaline."

The album features the original lineup of the group, vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Pat Torpey, and was produced by Pat Regan ( Deep Purple, Warrant and Keel.)
Martin had this to say about the effort, "We wrote songs individually and collectively on this new record. To me this is the album that we've threatened to make decades ago.
"A classic, groovin', blues-rock record with the spirit and spark of our Rock & Soul idols from the 70's. Hells to the yeah it's a Mr. Big album complete with all the trimmings.
He adds, "I think whether you've been with us from the beginning or just starting, you're going to dig where we are coming from and where we've been."
Gilbert shares his excitement about the album, "This new album rocks!" exclaims Paul. "I love playing guitar, singing, and writing with Eric, Billy, and Pat. And after 25 years, I'm proud that we can make an album that is melodic, powerful, interesting, groovy, and emotional."
The new album comes on the heals of the sad news that Pat Torpey has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and he will not be able to perform the full shows on the band's upcoming tour, but the group expects that he will be on hand to take part in the their acoustic set during the shows and may join them for other numbers as well.

Keenan last worked with COC in 2010. He never officially left the band, although the current lineup of Reed Mullin, Woody Weatherman and Mike Dean released their IX, their second album without him, in June.
Speaking ahead of Down's headline appearance at Bloodstock last night, Keenan told TeamRock: "The old COC thing's been coming up a lot. We're talking to Reed and Woody about getting that going.
"That's going to take a lot of attention. We're talking about just going to Europe and playing shows as the Deliverance four-piece, and starting from there to get it back together."

The band haven't yet had time to mark the milestone properly, and he doesn't think it'll happen until 2015 - so the night of November 18, during their autumn UK tour, is the only chance they'll have.
Speaking ahead of Hatebreed's Ronnie James Dio Stage set at Bloodstock last night, Jasta told TeamRock: "We were going to do this whole hoopla, then the schedule got so crazy. I don't know if there's going to be time. If there is, it's going be next year."
But he added: "I urge everyone to buy tickets to our London show with Volbeat. If that shows sells out we'll do a totally different set at our own headline show the following day."

Dickinson and the band launched their own ale, Trooper Beer, in the spring of 2013. Named after one of Iron Maiden's most popular songs, the beverage was personally designed and developed as a top quality Premium British Beer by the singer in tandem with Robinsons Brewery Head Brewer Martyn Weeks. Trooper Beer has gone to sell more than 5 million pints in its first year.
"We are hugely proud to have Bruce Dickinson announcing the winner of the Champion Beer of Britain competition. He is a true real ale lover," CAMRA Chairman Colin Valentine told the Belfast Telegraph. "The unique taste of Trooper has not only captured Iron Maiden's fan base, it is also attracting new customers to the beer category who are now trying real ale for the very first time."
"When asked if we wanted to enter into a partnership with the respected Robinsons Brewery to design and brew a real ale for ourselves and our fans, we leapt at the chance," Dickinson explained.

Morse has this to say about the track: "Heaven Smiled began when I was sitting in my backyard playing guitar and hanging out with my family on a really nice day.
"Maybe not that exciting, but after all the years that I've spent miserable, the simple things are miraculous to me. I've had a lot of times like that lately - just amazed at the wonder of it all. So I'm writing about that feeling.

The pair, drummer Thatcher and singer/bassist Kerr, say they've spent too much time being compared to other artists and it quickly became a chore. "Being a new band, you spend half your time just defending yourself against comparisons," Kerr tells Drowned In Sound. "I feel sorry for the next band that's going to get the question about Royal Blood and go, 'Obviously, we sound a bit like them, you know' and it's just going to go on and on.
"When Led Zeppelin started, all they got was 'You sound like Black Sabbath'. You look back at that now and it's a f***ing joke. How did that even happen?"
The pair release their self-titled debut album on August 25 and go on the road with Pixies across North America next month, and they hit back at some who say their sound is unoriginal.
"The bass and drum thing isn't new and neither is using more than one amp," says Kerr. "But even with people I look up to, Jack White or Josh Homme, their sounds and a big portion of what they do is borrowed. But they put their own stamp on it and that's what makes it a good idea. That's something I still aspire to be able to do. Every day I'm figuring out new ways of expanding it and it's still developing. There's only two of us and we're trying to sound like there are four."

The independent festival does not rely on sponsorship money and is held at Bristol's Motion venue - a skatepark with unique music rooms attached. Next year's event takes place on the weekend of May 29, 30 and 31.
Francis Mace, the festival director, says: "Following the success of this year's event, it's an absolute pleasure to announce a taster of what's on offer at Temples Festival 2015. The overall reception, enthusiasm and positive feedback from the inaugural edition of Temples Festival was completely overwhelming and with only 18 bands announced thus far, it's great to see such a strong response to our first 2015 announcement.

Suicide Silence covered the Hatebreed track on the special edition of their latest album You Can't Stop Me, which was released last month and the deathcore outfit were delighted Jasta could join them on stage, saying: "Thanks Jamey for rocking' out with us on Last Breath."
You Can't Stop Me is the band's first album since the death of Lucker, who was killed in a motorbike smash in November 2012. He was replaced by Eddie Hermida and the band say the tragedy shaped the album. "Mitch left behind a set of lyrics with the title You Can't Stop Me, says Guitarist Mark Heylmun. "It gave us chills and we knew we had the title and the title track."

And while much has been said of both parties' relief at the settlement, drummer Rockenfield says things were tense while Tate was still in the band. He was replaced by Todd La Torre in 2012, leading to a situation where two bands called Queensryche were touring and recording.
Rockenfield tells Pop Break: "The conflict started years ago, but prior to it when we were all still working together in the old band, we had been in a dark place for a long time. It wasn't going well, the years were stacking up on us, we weren't making the music we were passionate about and were being forced to do a lot of things we didn't want to do."

The 107-track deluxe box set will include the track "Let Me Give the World to You" in its demo form from the Adore sessions in 1998, and the band has shared that version yesterday (Aug. 11) via YouTube.

On what will be their first record with singer Vicky Psarakis, the band have returned to work with fellow Canadian Donaldson, who was behind the desk on their first three albums.
In the band's latest studio update, drummer Simon McKay says: "The good thing about working with Chris is that he's really calm. If you hit a bump and it's not working, he'll just let you work it out. There's not much you can do other than hammer out the kinks at that point - he'll tell you if it's not good."
Guitarist Danny Marino says the working relationship is a match made in heaven as far as The Agonist are concerned: "We see eye to eye on some things and we don't see eye to eye on other things when it comes to recording production," he says. "It's good because sometimes you need someone to tell you 'no' and that you should maybe consider other ideas. The end result is a really good balance of his way of doing things and ours."

Lundstrom tells Arte Concert: "Before we made it big enough to do this full-time it was a hassle. You have to work, get time off for touring; you get tired if you work a whole day then you need to go to rehearsal in the evening. You'd rather go home and do something else."
He's glad to report the band's schedule is "easy" and "fun" these days - but he knows they can't let things slide. "You can never relax just because you reach a certain level," he says. "That's when you're going to start going down again.
"You reach a new level and then you have to work even harder, come up with greater plans, make better albums, better shows."

"Apocalypse" is the culmination of a lot of hard work, long nights, and unplanned jam sessions on tour. Over the past few years the basic idea of the song, which started during a sound check somewhere in New Jersey, has been played, abandoned, screamed at, and, finally, brought into its final form. As a band, we're extremely proud of where it's ended up.
We chose Apocalypse as our single for this record because it expresses a lot of what we have gone through in the life of the band and, specifically, in the creation of this album. It is always a challenge to be original, to find some new perspective or sonic experience that truly declares itself. There is a kind of magic, though, when you feel like you're running out of time or you're about to fail at something that you've been working on or wanting for a while, and at that point it's either the end one thing or the beginning of another. I think that's true of this song, true of Lost Machines, and definitely true of Sleeperstar.
We spent a month in Nashville recording with the brilliant Dustin Burnett, and he really helped us take Apocalypse from "really cool rock song" to something truly special. What Dustin brought was a natural approach but a more aggressive feel to our sound, taking risks and pushing limits that we had tried to get across in our live performances. The result is that this new music is very up-front, bold, and really a big step in a new direction for Sleeperstar, and we couldn't be more ready for people to hear it.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the album and check out the video for the new song
