Tarquin produced, engineered, wrote and performed on the songs that appear on the tribute album and he is joined by Thal, Sheehan, Poland and Deep Purple's Steve Morse, Dire Straits' Hal Lindes, Whitesnake's Reb Beach, Dokken's Alex De Rosso and acclaimed guitarists Gary Hoey and Chuck Loeb.
Bumblefoot had this to say about the project, "What an honor to be part of this album, to play alongside many of the best players out there. Had a blast trading solos with Brian Tarquin!! And, best of all, this album supports an important cause, Wounded Warriors. Love to our Warriors, and to everyone for their support."
Chris Poland says, "It's challenging, but always fun working with Brian. I feel we both have similar taste in music and in our approach to creating it. We are both searching for that elusive tone or phrase."
Billy Sheehan says, "I had a blast playing bass on 'Black Hawk'. It's a cool riff that pushes the song into a slick overdrive. Nice! Also, and more importantly, the cause it supports is supremely important to me and I'm honored to contribute to our brave soldiers in any way possible. Glad to be involved in this wonderful project!"
Morse adds, "It is an honor to be a part of this cause. I was just turning drafting age at the end of the Vietnam War, and I still remember that the returning military weren't always treated with the greatest respect. For our modern, volunteer military, we hopefully have learned to show our respect and gratitude. They don't set the policy, but they set the standards."

Now the six-year-old band have released a statement, distancing themselves from Ramirez and saying they broke ties with him in 2012. They report: "Tony hasn't been a member of Betrayal for over two years. He had some unfortunate events in his life that did not allow him to commit full-time. If you follow us you would notice that Tony hasn't been in our promo pictures or on tour with us in quite some time."

The trailer begins with close-ups on the individual instruments showing no faces as somewhat muted voices play over the moodily building track. Eventually all five of the members of Breaking Benjamin are showed in a room playing. But aside from frontman Benjamin Burnley, the lineup is new.
The video also features the caption "Coming Soon" and lists the social networking info for each of the members. The lineup now features Burnley with former Picture Me Broken drummer Shaun Foist, ex-Forever Ouevre bassist and backing vocalist Aaron Bruch, former RED guitarist Jasen Rauch and ex-Adelitas Way guitarist and backing vocalist Keith Wallen. He was asked if he had spoken to Gene Simmons or Paul Stanley since the drama filled Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony and Ace said, "I spoke with Gene.
"I called him up and we were reminiscing about old times. The press makes it out like we all hate each other and that is utter nonsense. We all get along and we all have respect for each other.
"We all take cheap shots at each other in the press because that is what the press want to hear but when push comes to shove we are brothers in Rock n Roll and we have achieved something very few people do."

Originally released in 1971, The Cry Of Love was compiled and mixed by Hendrix's longtime engineer Eddie Kramer and Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell. The bulk of the tracks were recorded between December 1969 and the summer of 1970 at Electric Lady Studios in New York, and were intended to be part of a double LP tentatively titled First Rays of the New Rising Sun.
Rainbow Bridge was also compiled and mixed by Eddie Kramer and Mitch Mitchell in 1971, with the help of Electric Lady Studios engineer John Jansen. Most of the tracks were recorded in 1969 and 1970, during the same sessions that spawned The Cry Of Love.

Frontman Dave Brockie - aka Oderus Urungus - died in March of an accidental heroin overdose. The band say the upcoming Gwar Eternal Tour 2014 is a mission to find the "missing" Oderus.
Guitarist BalSac The Jaws of Death says: "Dark clouds of war and ill omen have gathered around Gwar. In our hour of greatest peril, Oderus has left us and our enemies stand poised, ready to strike while they sense weakness. But we shall no longer cower in our Antarctic stronghold, awaiting destiny's final blow.
"This Fall, Gwar sets out on the most trying quest of our career. We shall scour our leader's favourite stomping ground, North America, leaving no city unsearched, no venue unraised, and no sheep unmolested.
"Gwar will venture to the depths of Hell or to the very end of time itself, and though I fear what we may encounter out there, I know that we can never return home until we have the answer we seek, 'Where is Oderus Urungus?'"

He responded by saying the backlash had confused him, as he insisted his colleagues had known about his plans for some time. And he admitted the public argument meant it would be difficult for him to return in the future.
Now Russell Allen and co say in a brief statement: "We'd like to welcome Erik Leonhardt, formerly of Tantric, to the Adrenaline Mob family. We hope to see you all out on tour in September."

Mikko, Kie and Jonne Von Hertzen are working on the follow-up to 2013's Nine Lives with producer Garth Richardson, while Randy Staub will handle mixing duties. The lineup is completed by drummer Mikko Kaakkuriniemi and keyboardist Juha Kuoppala - and frontman Mikko Von Hertzen says he's thrilled to be working with a "thrilling top-of-the-line team."
He says: "For the past five years we've been working hard on building an international setup. Now the collective feeling is that we need to up it a gear and just go for it."
Speaking about the involvement of Richardson, he reports: "From the outset, the idea was to find a producer who has a vision and thus something concrete to offer our music. With Garth, things clicked from the first meeting. What was really encouraging was his enthusiasm for our new material."

Drover was announced as a member of Geoff Tate's version of Queensryche after the original frontman was dramatically fired in 2012. But he left without playing a note weeks later, saying: "I've learned that it's in my best interest not to do this." In March 2013 he made a guest appearance with the original band, fronted by La Torre, and described his excitement at working with "the REAL Queensryche."
Now it's been confirmed Drover and La Torre will release a track named Discordia later this week. The guitarist says: "We're both very happy and proud of how the song turned out. And believe me, I'm extremely picky of anything I do."

The track, "The Best Day," is the album's title track. It, along with the full album, was recorded with James Sedwards, Deb Googe (of My Bloody Valentine) and Steve Shelley.
It goes on to say the album will also include a few all-instrumental tracks performed solely by Moore. Moore and his band will tour as well, beginning this September across America, Europe and Asia. Check out the new song

The hard-living punk icon's life will be explored in the film due on DVD on October 7th in North America and October 14th in the UK. (Preorder here) It charts his career from the early days up until his tragic death at the age of 38 in a New Orleans hotel in 1991.
Filmmaker Danny Garcia says he wanted to answer the question: "Just who was Johnny Thunders?" He spent 18 months travelling the US and Europe interviewing 50 of the icon's closest friends.
Real name John Anthony Genzale, his death was officially cited as drug-related - although rumours over foul play have persisted for years. He was also said by some to have been suffering from leukaemia.

Morris says: "I had such a great time and will always cherish the experiences, from touring with Alice Cooper to actually getting on that plane to Europe and everything in between.
"This was a very difficult decision for me. I've recently had some life-changing events that have made me rethink some of my personal priorities. I have to get my own house in order, and I felt it wouldn't be fair to limit the growth of Lillian Axe due to my restricted availability."

Sixx said the bandmates "got it" right away, because "a lot of '80s rock fans are now new country music fans, and vice-versa. And the more we started talking to Scott, talking about the artists and how they love the band, it became really organic."
Radio.com sat down in Nashville recently with Sixx and lead vocalist Vince Neil. Both spoke enthusiastically about the project, which features new versions of Cre classics recorded by such country artists as Florida Georgia Line, Justin Moore, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Gretchen Wilson. Titled Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mtley Cre, the album hits stores and digital outlets Aug. 19.
Neil and Sixx both admitted they hadn't paid much attention to country before they were presented with the tribute idea. But once they did, they realized that rock and country (especially in its current incarnation) have quite a bit in common.
"Seeing some of the bands [such as] Florida Georgia Linethey're a rock 'n' roll band!" said Neil. "Even Rascal Flatts [have] a lot of rock 'n' roll in 'em."

Tribbett and Bob Zilla were shown the door by Hellyeah in February this year, with Gray calling their involvement in the band a "toxic situation" and drummer Vinnie Paul stating the pair lacked drive.
But despite the acrimonious split, Gray says getting Mudvayne back together along with Tribbett wasn't out of the question. When the frontman was asked if Mudvayne were officially over in an interview with Revolver magazine, Gray responds: "I don't think so. We all still talk and I'm not ready to put a headstone on anything yet."

And the Metal God says he can clearly remember his first gig without drink or drugs, saying it was one of the "most amazing shows he's ever done." Halford tells Classic Rock Revisited: "I was sick of waking up every morning and feeling like sh*t. I think I came to an understanding that I wasn't at my full capacity - I was being held in place by booze and drugs.
"I will always remember the first show I did clean and sober. It was one of the most amazing shows I've ever done. It was in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I literally felt elevated as everything was coming with such clarity.
"I was able to really listen to, love and enjoy the performance of Judas Priest, without having all the other things in front of it. Since that day, it's been a miracle."
But Halford admits it's not easy to take control back amid life on the road. Read what he had to say

It's a continuation of decades of bad-mouthing between the two bands, reactivated when Corgan claimed Chris Cornell and co had reunited in 2011 as a "cash-grab."
Now Thayil has upped the stakes by comparing the way both outfits operate. He tells the Dallas Observer: "We feel confident that if the four of us all like an album, it's going to do well.
"We don't have one member deciding the composition of an album; we have four guys contributing material without someone calling 'bullsh*t' on it. You follow me? You should know who I'm talking about but I'm not going to name names."
In another apparent dig at the Pumpkins' catalogue Thayil adds: "There are bands out there led by one guy who does all the writing. He might have some religious epiphany or some psychedelic experience, and he'll write all this material that can very easily suck - and the rest of his band feel like they have to play it.
"That is not Soundgarden. Consequently, we have never made a record that sucked."

The Japanese outfit have had to change plans after guitarist Takemura Kazuki was diagnosed with repetitive strain injury and ordered not to play for extended periods of time.

In an exclusive interview on the Classic Rock Show on TeamRock Radio, Paice tells host Nicky Horne: "I don't know that he's still my friend. I don't believe it. I don't have anything there that convinces me he's the guy I used to know.
"I don't think Ritchie's changed - I just think he's become a more concentrated version of himself through the years." He continues: "It's sad because it's unnecessary. I hope I'm wrong. If Ritchie reads this and gives me a call, and says, 'What the hell are you talking about?' I'll go, 'That's fantastic.' But I'm not hanging by the phone."

It is the second track made available from the English band's upcoming eighth album Time To Die, due out on September 29. An 11-minute video for lead track I Am Nothing was unveiled last month.
The doom outfit's follow-up to 2010's Black Masses is described as "uncompromisingly heavy" and "genuinely twisted". Time To Die is available for pre-order and the band have confirmed two live dates so far, with more to follow.

The North Carolina natives launch the title on October 6, and they describe it as "a 41-minute musical hybrid, journeying through the realms of prog, metal and post rock."
Guitarist Paul Meisner says: "Endeavor represents everything we love about modern progressive metal. Our goal when writing the album was to have it be a single cohesive and unbroken piece of music, yet still allow each song to retain their own unique identity."
He believes the twin editions offer listeners more options for interacting with their work at different levels, saying: "Whether someone wants to listen to it all at once, or if they want to break it up instead, each will be a different experience. Either way, we really hope people enjoy the record."

Last month the band confirmed the follow-up to 2003's Tug Of War would be launched on September 29 via InsideOut. Mainman Douglas A Ott said: "It's classic Enchant, but with a bunch of new twists and turns. It's been a long time in the making, but it's surely worth the wait."
InsideOut will also release the band's 1993 debut A Blueprint Of The World on limited-edition vinyl on September 1st. Check out The Great Divide preview

Dodge is the presenting sponsor of Motley Crue's "The Final Tour", which kicked off last month in Grand Rapids, Michigan. "Whenever I talk to people about Moltey Crue, the common thread is how cool and relevant the band remains even after 33 years," said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of the Dodge brand.
"This irreverent 'staying power' resonates deeply with the Dodge brand as we turn the corner on our 100-year anniversary. What better way to celebrate the band's final tour and the 25th anniversary of 'Kickstart My Heart' than to do it together?"

Their first album, Greetings From California, is sonically two parts Beach Boys, one part the Clash and one part sounds that they worked hard to make sure no one had used before.
Radio.com caught up with Joel for a Proustian question and answer session, in which he talked the new album, Greetings From California, which comes out on September 16th and more.
What ideal are you most loyal to? Protecting the integrity of who you are and what makes you special. With this record we've been really protective of the integrity of the record and the music. And keeping it special. Making sure that it's unique, that every sound on the record has never been used before whether it's a guitar tone or whatever.
Musically it's very different for you, did you have to protect your ability to go in this direction? Yes, we had to protect the space that we were in to be able to create the record and not let anyone intrude on what we were doing for three years while we were making it. It was very important to us that we make sure we protected our ability to create it and not think about charts, what's in the radio, what we've done before, what people are going to think - all the different, hundreds of factors other people think about. We didn't want to because we don't believe in that stuff.
What song makes you feel most secure? I think it's Bob Dylan's "Gotta Serve Somebody." It makes me feel like at the end of the day we all are just humans. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do. It doesn't matter how special my record is or how important this time in our career is, whatever you're saying at the end of the day we're all going to have to serve somebody. And every dog has his day, basically.

Holopainen says in their latest update video: "When I come up with a subject for the song, I always see it as a short movie. Each song is like a soundtrack for that movie in my head.
"From the moment I start writing I have the story in my head. I have a really clear vision of how the songs should sound at this point. Of course, they will change after band rehearsals and arranging."
The follow-up to 2011's Imaginaerum is set for release next year, although no details have yet been released. Meanwhile, Jansen has said her own band Revamp have to play second-fiddle to Nightwish's timetable - but they're not abandoning plans to make a third album.

And although he says he always missed being in The Haunted after leaving in 2003, it was a reduced touring schedule and the stability of a day job that convinced him to return.
He tells Dear Rhetoric: "I've always been a metal worker - a construction worker, blacksmith. The thing about this time around is that we all have jobs so our lives don't depend on The Haunted - we can do it just for fun.
"We don't need to do it to put food on the table. Music is supposed to be fun. It's not supposed to be a must. Once it becomes a must, you can tell. We don't ever want to be that band that is doing their job and you can tell from a mile away. We are doing this for fun, and once it becomes a must, we need to sit down, take stock, and reconsider what the point is that we are missing."
