All of the reissues were supervised by Zeppelin's guitarist and producer Jimmy Page. As with the reissues of the first three albums, he worked to make sure that none of the bonus material has seen the light of day before.
As Page told Radio.com, "I left no stone unturned. I was even checking out whatever had come out on bootleg that had leaked out of studios in the past - not by us, I might add. But I wanted to make sure that the material that I was going to present was not out already on bootleg."
Zeppelin IV is the third best-selling album in U.S. history, and has been certified 23 times platinum. The LP features a number of classics, including "Rock and Roll," "Black Dog," "Misty Mountain Hop" and, of course, "Stairway to Heaven." The deluxe edition will include unreleased versions of every song heard on the original album including alternate mixes of "Misty Mountain Hop" and "Four Sticks," mixes of "The Battle Of Evermore" and "Going To California" with extra guitar and mandolin, and an alternate version of "Stairway To Heaven."
The fact that this reissue has a release date indicates that the lawsuit that was filed against Led Zeppelin by the trust of late Spirit songwriter Randy California to prevent the re-release of "IV" has not deterred the band or their label, Rhino Records from moving forward with the reissue campaign.
The 11-times-platinum Houses of the Holy reissue will include "rough and working mixes" of "The Ocean" and "Dancing Days," as well as a version of "The Rain Song" without the song's distinct piano.
Each reissue will be available in several formats (as was the case for the reissues of the first three albums, which were released in June): as a single CD (with no bonus tracks), a deluxe double CD (containing all the bonus tracks), a single LP, a double LP, a digital download and a "super deluxe boxed set" including all of the above material on both CD and LP, with a hi-def audio download card, as well as a hard bound 80-page book with rare and previously unseen photos and memorabilia.

Officials said the song's lyrics could cause offence - even though the pupils only perform instrumental versions. They were also told to drop a version of pop star Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven.
Speaking during a show on their current US tour, Wentz told the crowd: "We heard about this school band who were going to perform this song, and the teachers or someone decided to not allow them. We stand on the side of creativity and making music, and we appreciate the hard work that goes into doing that.
"We would like to come to your school and perform a different song with your band - a song that is sanctioned if possible." Check out video and more details about what happened

The former UFO, Ozzy Osbourne and Waysted bassist was diagnosed last year after he went to the doctor complaining of blood in his urine. It was that early decision to seek medical help that Way credits with saving his life.
But support group sessions left him thinking again about the fabled drug-fuelled antics of his past. Way tells TeamRock: "I met some amazing people during my treatment. I had radiotherapy and all that stuff, and I'll never be able to listen to an addict again tell me how hard it is to stop using. I'd say, 'You're f***ing mad - just come down to the cancer club to put it all into perspective.' I'm ashamed when I think of the things I did, testing every drug you can imagine."

This weekend, the band updated fans via their official Facebook page with the following message, "We got the official release date for our single to go to radio and the street date for the albumPhoto sessions and video are done. The cd packaging is almost doneHere we go."
Now Classic Rock reports that the new album is scheduled to be released on October 6th, which is a Monday, the usual release date in the U.K. and North America releases typically follow on the next day.
Sixx says of the album, "I think fans are going to love this record, and I think new people will come in and be really surprised by it. Our first two records don't sound the same, but there's a sound with the band and I think we're going to continue that tradition."

The charity brings sick and vulnerable children together with musicians to help give them a voice in their communities. Artists are invited to create songs out of the kids' short stories - and LTJ frontman Chris DeMakes jumped at the chance to take part.
DeMakes says: "The track was taken from a story written by our young friend Gabe. I never thought I'd sing a song about chicken with such conviction!
"Our manager's wife works for Gilda's Club in Nashville, USA which provides support for people affected by cancer. Sing Me A Story work in conjunction with Gilda's Club and child cancer patients. We're aiming to raise $1000 through donations."

What that kit will look like is another story: Claypool describes his percussion setup for the band's upcoming album, Primus and the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, wasn't a drum set, strictly speaking, but more like "A giant circle, or a pile of things to bang on."
"He's so musical at what he does, and he can be very orchestral when he wants to be, and taking him off a traditional kit just brought forth these sounds that we've just never gotten from him before," Claypool said. "If you saw this kit, you'd laugh your ass off. He couldn't get in and out of it. We'd open up a portion of it and shove him in there and then lock him in with other pieces of things."
The album itself is a tribute to the classic 1971 musical film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder (and not, he points out, the 2005 remake directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp: both artists are talented, he said, but "But like all human beings, every now and then, we crap in our pants").
The album is due on Oct. 21, with the band kicking off a tour the following night at the Tower Theater in Pennsylvania. Perhaps equally as exciting will be the return of the Primus candy bars made by Pennsylvania's Asher's Chocolates - which were originally created for a New Year's Eve concert - including Mr. Krinkle (crisped rice), Professor Nutbutter (peanuts) and Bastard Bar (dark chocolate).

Aware that the biggest hit from last album The 2nd Law came in the form of the ballad "Madness," Bellamy promised of the new material, "It's gonna get heavy.
"I have this strong feeling that the next album should be something that really does strip away the additional things that we've experimented with on the last two albums, which is electronics, symphonics and orchestral work and all that kind of stuff," the singer told Rolling Stone in December.
Meanwhile, Bellamy joked about filling YouTube with classic Muse footage. According to Bellamy's tweets, the band's video director Tom Kirk, has been unboxing more than a decade's worth of archived Muse material at drummer Dominic Howard's house.

Both albums will come decorated with new liner notes written by R.E.M.'s Mike Mills, a fan and collaborator with Big Star drummer Jody Stephens, who is the last remaining member of the band who played on these two albums.
"Songwriting has always been, for me, the most vital gauge of a band's quality, and these guys were clearly masters," says Mills in a press release. "Big Star gave you something satisfying to listen to, no matter how many times you heard them."

Lee last night posted a picture of herself and her son in the delivery room on Instagram and said: "Our little cub is here. I have never known the depths of my heart until now. The world just exploded into technicolor."
Evanescence have been on hiatus since ending the tour in support of their self-titled third album in 2012. Lee sued their former record label for unpaid royalties earlier this year and the band were released from a related contract in March.

The German outfit are said to have asked bosses at Lahti for five chauffeur-driven limos, porcelain toilets for each member's exclusive use and a larger stage than anything previously built at the site.
In order to fulfill the band's requirements, single-day tickets were hiked to almost double their usual price, causing a fan backlash. Allu Koskinen, boss of the Rockcock Festival, refused to release the full rider document but said: "We don't want to raise prices, even though the pressure is on due to those extra expense. We just have to hope for a great turnout."

Payne was working as part of the team behind the Raiding The Rock Vault musical until he was suspended in May and then fired in June. He has since launched a lawsuit claiming his contribution to the show is protected by copyright and that he signed his original rights agreement under duress.
The lawsuit against Rock Vault Tours, the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and its owner Westgate Resorts alleges breach of contract, copyright violations and slander.
Payne - lead singer with Asia from 1992 to 2006 - developed the format of Raiding The Rock Vault with Grammy-winning record producer David Kershenbaum. The show is held at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and takes audiences on a musical journey from 1948 to 1989. The show features members of some well-known bands and songs from The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin and others.

The ceremony will feature performances from many of Cale's friends and past collaborators. Other Oklahoma music greats to be inducted this year include Elvin Bishop, Jim Keltner (a close friend of Cale's who also plays on Eric Clapton's tribute album - The Breeze, as well as many of the greatest records in rock and roll history), Chuck Blackwell and Lowell Fulson.
Cale was one of the originators of what became known as the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz influences. Some of his most recognized songs were hits for others, including "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton and "Call Me The Breeze" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The song originally appeared on Mott The Hoople's fifth studio album, 1972's "All The Young Dudes." The tune was also featured as the b-side to the title track when it was released as a single.
Down N Outz - who play only Mott-releated tunes (including songs by Mott, Ian Hunter and British Lions) - were formed specifically to open a series of 2009 reunion shows for Mott The Hoople at London's Hammersmith Odeon.

Many fans will recognize the look of the Circles guitar from the live video for "Unchained", filmed in Oakland, California in 1981 on the Fair Warning tour.

Over 1300 people have added their name to an online campaign launched last week, which labelled the Swedish outfit a "watered-down Blue Oyster Cult" and demanded they end their career. That resulted in the creation of a counter-petition, which has secured over 1400 signatures.
But the Nameless Ghoul tells Radio Futuro (via Blabbermouth): "I could not care less. It's completely, completely stupid. There is no petition in the world that can make us change. Why would we?
"I was just laughing, then we went on to the next page of our lives. These people don't realise that the more you talk about us, the more we're gaining. If they don't understand that, you cannot do anything but laugh at the whole thing."
That's not all.
Anderson tells Something Else: "We're wrong in expecting revolutionary changes in popular music forms. To imagine that we're going to have some kind of new form that equals or surpasses the Beatles, or indeed the bands of the 70s, 80s or 90s - it's a mistake to think that's going to happen.
"We live in a world of reinvention, of reinterpretation. There's a bunch of guys out there playing generic music, all of which owes a great deal to what's gone on before. Very rarely does anybody manage to put a stamp of originality on what they do."
Anderson thinks he knows why the situation has arisen. "There's just not a busting amount left to do that hasn't been done before," he says.

Smith says on his Kickstarter page: "I'm so grateful for the love and support of my fans over the years and I've always been hesitant to do this. I need your help to make the release of this album a reality, and to help promote it properly.
"I'm very proud of this one. I hope its what my fans have been asking me for all along. More rocking, more guitar, more improvisational, amazing guests!"

Speaking with the Austin American-Statesman, Stanley says: "I think being provocative is part of who he is. Why we do what we do is rooted in our childhood and our experiences. He likes to shock or annoy people and he does that very well. He's also a terrific partner and somebody who is clearly irreplaceable."
Stanley also revealed the band wouldn't be where they are today if guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss had remained in the group, saying: "We were on the path of success but that ultimately led us away from what we formed as and why. It lost the essence of what we believed in - and that's all part of this amazing story.
"As for Ace and Peter, we created something terrific and had the potential to be monumental, but ultimately not with them. We wouldn't be here today with them."

Mark I bassist Simper recommended Ian Gillan when Ritchie Blackmore's outfit were looking for a frontman in 1968, although the singer refused the job, saying he was better off staying with his own group Episode Six.
Purple then hired Rod Evans, but when Gillan was approached again the following year, he said he'd only join if Roger Glover took over bass duties - and that spelled the end for co-founder Simper's 16-month, three-album stint.
He tells TeamRock: "It was definitely a body blow. It was a turnaround, when you consider I'd recommended Ian in the first place. He had the chance but rejected it. We auditioned about 200 people before we found Rod Evans - I bet Ian was thrilled to get that second chance in 1969.
"When he did come on board, he made it very clear he wasn't joining without Roger. I was definitely peeved."

"Watch people play records? That's stupid. You couldn't pay me to go," Petty ranted. "I'm not oversimplifying it. That's what's going on. I don't think it would be any fun without the drugs. It's a drug party."
Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac Productions, the team behind Electric Daisy Carnival, has responded to Petty's critiques with a measured and thoughtful post on the Insomniac website. Rotella even went so far as to invite Petty to a future show:
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about records, DJs and dance music, including Tom Petty. We're living in a very electronic era with constantly evolving forms of entertainment, which may be a daunting thing for a classic rocker in search of contemporary social relevancy as he starts promoting new music. But I would think that someone who played shows with Dylan and the Dead-someone who lived through and actively contributed to the counterculture era of the '60s and '70s-wouldn't be so quick to drink the overhyped media Kool-Aid about our festival experience.
"If he wants to come to EDC Vegas next year and see what it's really about, we've got a ticket with his name on it. If he doesn't want to wait that long, Nocturnal Wonderland is right around the corner. My Mama Irene would be stoked to meet him! Who knows? He might just have a "Change of Heart."

Radio.com: Was "Inside Out" a blessing or a curse? Max Collins: I wrote it when I was 17 years old, most of it in my bedroom at my parents' house, then I wrote the second verse in my 11th grade English class. And looking back on that song and the time, with some objectivity I guess, there's something really pure about it. There's noambition, or any of the sort of things that come with-you know when I think of hit songs, I also think of people who really trying to write one, and I really wasn't, I was just, you know, being 17. And the song has afforded me this career - it's certainly made me a lot of money, which is nice - and given me the opportunity to have an audience many years later. So I guess the simplistic, one-word answer would be a blessing.
Radio.com: What inspired the tune, is it based on real events? Max: When I hear the song now, I hear a kid talking aboutkid stuff in a way. It was the first girl that, you know, broke my heart or whatever. It was angst born of feelings I'd never felt before.
A lot more.
