"'Rock and Roll' has just got that cheeky energy about it," Jimmy Page told Rolling Stone. "It's a party. 'It's been a long time since I rock and rolled.' It says it all, really. It's great lyrics and it's a great performance."
"As a song, it was actually kind of punky; pre-punk," added bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones. "It was really fast too, onstage anyway. It just got really quick, a lot of energy. It's a lot of fun to play. The crowd loved it. We loved it."

"Paul was our brother; Paul was very close to us. We tried putting him into treatment numerous times; we took him off of tours and we had interventions with him.
"At the end of the day, Paul was sick. What can you do? If you have a sickness, you've got to fix that sickness - but you can't keep putting somebody into treatment over and over and over again. What are you supposed to do? Babysit someone and live with them?"

Flynn changed plans to hit the road after production on eighth album Bloodstone & Diamonds overran. That led to Laiho saying: "I will not go into details on why or what happened, but this had nothing to do with me or Children Of Bodom. But hey, you know what? Sh*t f***in' happens, life goes on."
Now Flynn responds via his blog: "The Children Of Bodom 'Hate Crew' has been out in full force tonight in light of the tour being rescheduled. It's typical sh*t talking.
"Most people usually need the motivation to act like fools - and Alexi's little bitch-ass response certainly got the Hate Crew fired up. Hate Crew? More like Alexi-ain't-that-Great-Crew! "In the beginning of 1993," explains Gilmour, "we went into Britannia Row Studios and set up - just like the old days - so that the three of us could just play along with each other for the love of it and see what it came out like. Out of that, this album has grown; out of that grew 'The Division Bell' album, as well, but there was an awful lot of material."

Now Ian has waded in on the debate, telling WHEB-FM: "I think the exact opposite. I don't look at things from a strictly business standpoint like I think Gene does. Just because the media may not be paying attention like it used to, or record labels are only looking for the next 16-year-old pop star.
"For me, rock is never dead, as long as there's bands that want to play this music. It has nothing to do with what the media is pushing down people's throats. I've never looked at it that way, because we've never needed radio and we've never needed MTV to do what we do." Read more

Hale tells Loudwire: "A lot of these songs that came together were bits and pieces of conversations I've actually had on Twitter and Instagram and via Facebook with the few people that follow me.
"That sounds like, 'Oh wow that's so 2014 of you to say,' but it's really true. I definitely don't get out much, we've been doing 14 hour days in the studio. I've been using social media and Twitter to have just some more in depth conversations with our Halestorm fans.
"They really open themselves up. They let me inside some of their thoughts and issues and it's been very, very inspiring and humbling to be a part of somebody's life like that. A lot of these subjects that we think are important and that they have definitely been brave enough to tell me have seeded their way into a lot of these stories." Read more

He'd recently completed work on Alvin, his first studio project in 30 years, which he'd described as a "departure" from the 1970s and 1980s material he's best known for.
Now Conehead Records say: "The release of the final album by Alvin Stardust will be bought forward to October 27. It's a worthy testament to a talent that endured, and a reputation that will continue.
"This is a collection reflecting a maturing performer, at home with the nuances of his remarkable voice. It's a reflective, speculative and deeply personal album that beguiles with an open honesty that recalls the best of the singer-songwriter genre."

Sally Estabrook, 76, disappeared three weeks ago from her home in Julian, California. She's suffering advanced-stage Alzheimer's and, says the Megadeth mainman, "couldn't put three words together."
A search led by police assisted by 300 volunteers found nothing nearby, leading Mustaine to believe that someone may have given Sally a lift, and is now uncomfortable about coming forward.
He tells 101KGB: "There's no way a 76-year-old woman can trek all the way down a mountain like that. So somebody was being nice and trying to help her. We're thinking the person who tried to help her is afraid that maybe they did something wrong.
"Even the most terrible of convicts still has a mother. The person could have pulled over and helped her, and have a criminal past and can't say anything."
He adds: "I've got a checkered past. We don't care what the situation is. Just help us find my wife's mom. We just want know where she is." Read more

Formed in 2008 in Helsinki by guitarists Anton Kabanen and Juuso Soino and drummer Pyry Vikki, the project is the follow-up to 2013's self-titled album.
Kabanen sees Unholy Savior as a step forward for himself and the group, and he says the album's theme continues his fascination with manga series Berserk.
He says: "I thirst to go further as a human being and the music on this album represents a part of the ongoing spiritual journey - that's what I tend to I call it - which is my road onward. Music-wise the songs have been expanded to a wider area as an effort to call out emotions close to those I myself had during the times of birth of these songs."

Riot is a band with a great history and an extensive catalog and while Riot V is rooted in the Thundersteel era, both Mike and Donnie wanted to write songs that reflected the bands history as well as its future.
Mike wrote the music to Take Me Back and the first recording I heard was a rough recording that Mike, Frank, and Nick put together from just a digital recorder in the middle of the practice room. Even though the recording was rough, the initial riff really grabbed me and the main refrain certainly takes you back to the hard rock roots of Riot.
I normally listen to new songs while driving around in my car, because I don't usually have a lot of free time at home. After listening to the demo a few times, I was feeling rather nostalgic. All these thoughts about how life was like when we were younger and more care free started filling up my head and all of the sudden the initial chorus melody and the phrase "take me back" came into my head.
Often is seems that the best songs come to you quickly and that is what it was like for me with "Take Me Back". Once the title came to my mind, the rest of the words just started flowing.
The last piece to put in place was a great chorus melody. Originally, the song had a slightly different chorus melody that I developed, but Mike came back with a different melody suggestion that worked well with my lyrics and it really seemed to be a great finishing touch to the song.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
