The Sydney Morning Herald reports sources connected to the Young family have said Young, whose retirement from the band was announced on Wednesday, has been moved into full-time care in a nursing home facility specializing in dementia.
According to the Young family connection: "If you were in the room with [Malcolm] and walked out then came back in one minute later, he wouldn't remember who you are. He has a complete loss of short term memory. His wife Linda has put him in full-time care."
AC/DC have not commented or made any public statements revealing details of Malcolm's health issues to date. Read more

Due October 28 in North America (November 3 in UK and elsewhere), the 2-disc package presents 41 classic Who tunes plus the new song. "Be Lucky" was produced by Dave Eringa, best known for his work with the Manic Street Preachers and Wilko Johnson & Roger Daltrey.
Recorded at the end of the summer at British Grove and Yellow Fish Studios, "Be Lucky" features long time Who live players Zak Starkey (drums) and Pino Palladino (bass) with the keyboards being provided by ex-Style Council and Dexys sideman Mick Talbot.
In keeping with their ongoing support for Teenage Cancer charities, the band have donated their royalties from the song to Teen Cancer America, a charity founded in 2011 by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

The "Jim thing" to which Corey refers is the dismissal of guitarist Jim Root from Stone Sour in May, something that must be particularly awkward given that he still plays for Slipknot. Certainly, Jim himself wasn't pleased, posting on social media: "I'm not in the band any more. Not my decision. Not happy about it."
"That lead to a confrontation, to put it nicely," admits Corey. "But literally, it flared up and then it was gone because we knew we had this project to work on. I didn't want his focus split and I didn't want my focus split, so we sat down and talked for 20, 30 minutes - and we were at the studio - before we even started. We hashed it out. He felt terrible and I felt terrible that he was going through it. It's just one of those things where you're gonna have to make decisions in life and you're not going to like them, but at the end of the day you have to do what's right for the greater whole."
It seems, from the outside, like it was musical differences with Jim and more of a personality thing with Joey. Is that fair comment? "No, not really," replies Corey. "Jim is one of the most incredibly gifted people I know. It was a difference, not of direction, but just in the goal of things, y'know? There's not a lot I can say about it right now because we're firing [Slipknot] up and the last thing I want is to have him read something and take it the wrong way. Anything I say here I'm gonna say to his face as well, so it's hard to do this, harder than any fan understands. There are times when it does flare up and we have to sit and talk and figure it out. Basically, when your friend's not happy you have to find a way for him to be happy, no matter what, and if it takes making a difficult decision like that so he can move on, it's just what you've got to do. It sucks and it takes a lot of the joy out of this sh*t, and that's what this whole f***ing thing should be about!"
Are you still talking to Joey? "I haven't talked to Joey in a while, to be honest," he admits. "That's how different we are. It's not because I don't love him and I don't miss him. And it is painful; we talk about him all the time, but at the same time, do we miss him or do we miss the old him? That's what it really comes down to. It's just a f***ing shame."
When pressed further on the "Jim thing", and who exactly fired him, Corey, understandably, prefers to stay tight-lipped. "This is the most I've spoken about it, I've told you more than anyone else," he confirms. And, let's face it, they still have to work together, and the last thing Hammer wants to do is cause additional problems in that particular department. Instead, we move to a similarly difficult subject: the trial and subsequent acquittal of Paul Gray's doctor, Daniel Baldi, on malpractice charges, and the accusations by Paul's wife, Brenna, that Slipknot didn't do enough to help their friend.

Campbell was diagnosed with the cancer in 2013, which briefly went into remission only to return again. He received further treatment and cancer is once again in remission and he will be undergoing the stem cell transplant in an attempt to keep the cancer from returning once again.
He wrote on the band's official website, "As many of you know, I've been scheduled to start a stem cell transplant and as soon as I got home from tour I began the necessary tests and preparations. I'll be admitted to hospital soon for all the yucky bits, so in the meantime I'm headed to Target to stock up on cozy pajamas, fresh underwear, and a sackful of car-porn.
"Unfortunately, this means that I won't be able to perform with the band on the upcoming NFL broadcast on Sept. 28th, nor will I be able to do the shows scheduled for Oct/Nov.
"While I can't say that I'm looking forward to the process ahead, I'm very much looking forward to what I feel will be a most successful outcome. Next year will be very busy for Def Leppard with a new album and a world tour, and frankly, I don't think they would sound as loud without me, so I have no intention of letting the team down!
"See you all (with hair!) in 2015. - Viv"

The album consists mainly of material created during sessions for 1993's The Division Bell. Gilmour tells Uncut: "To me, it's very evocative and emotional in a lot of moments.
"And listening to all the stuff made me regret Rick's passing all over again. This is the last chance someone will get to hear him playing along with us on that way he did."

Kiss star Simmons recently claimed the industry offered no support for rising artists, while online piracy had devalued music. He said: "Rock did not die of old age. It was murdered."
That led to responses from Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett and Twisted Sister vocalist Dee Snider. Now Halford tells Mitch Lafon: "I've heard that statement a number of times through the decades. I don't think it is - I think it's in incredible shape right now. Never been stronger.
"We're surrounded constantly by new talent, and the enthusiasm keeps rock alive and strong. I think it'll always be that way." Read more

Available on DVD and Deluxe CD/DVD packages, the project is being issued in sync with the 30th Anniversary of Whitesnake's multi-platinum "Slide It In" album.
"Live In '84" has been culled from audio and video recordings and unheard demos from the private collection of Whitesnake leader and vocalist David Coverdale. The set presents an ultra-rare collection of material performed by the band's acclaimed 83-84 line-ups.
Featured on the record are drummer Cozy Powell (Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, MSG, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath), bassist Neil Murray and guitarist John Sykes, whom Coverdale credits with inspiring a whole generation of musicians after his work on the band's 1987 self-titled album.
Bonus content includes legendary keyboardist Jon Lord performing his last show ever with Whitesnake. "It's still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who originally recorded the 'Slide It In' album with me have passed away," says Coverdale. "It's incredibly difficult to articulate: Cozy Powell...Mel Galley...Jon LordAll amazing people and amazing musicians. Their memories live on in our hearts and in the music they made. I miss them beyond words Wait until you see and hear them playing as only they can and add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes, plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray."

The completed project will follow last year's Disarm The Descent, his first record with the band in a decade. Leach tells Wikimetal: "We're going to take some time off, start demoing and start writing. We're really looking forward to getting some new material out. Hopefully by the end of this year we'll have material ready to go. We'll see what happens - but we're definitely stoked on it."
He returned to KSE in early 2012, ten years after leaving due to a battle with depression. His return was ignited after he reunited with the band at the Roadrunner United 25th anniversary concert, where he performed a duet with replacement Howard Jones, who's now fronting Devil You Know.
Leach reflects: "It's been mindblowing, man. It's life-changing; it's incredible. I've seen the world and I've been able to play in front of thousands of people. I get to do what I love and make a living doing it. So I feel very blessed to be able to do that."

Lombardo was fired last year after a contractual dispute and has just released his second album with Philm. Portnoy quit Dream Theater in 2011 and, despite a last-minute attempt to rejoin, he's gone on to work with the Winery Dogs, Flying Colors, Transatlantic, Bigelf and others.
Asked if he feels a similar satisfaction to Portnoy, Lombardo tells Rocksverige: "Absolutely. You're not part of this machine that has to go on tour 90 days or 100 days out of the year - to pay for other people's mortgages.
"You're doing it for yourself, and it's creativity based on what you like. You express yourself in many different ways and it's definitely more satisfying and challenging too. You're not with the same guys and the same formula; you're challenged by walking into a room with new artists and it's like, 'Okay, how am I gonna make this work?'
"It's great - I agree with Mike. It's a whole different light when you're out of your element." But that doesn't mean there's more uncertainty. Read what he said about that

Keeler says: "I know you are going to be disappointed with my decision, as am I. My reason is the ongoing health issues with my son, who has been suffering with a debilitating illness for some time. He is still on a downward path with no sign of any recovery on the horizon.
"To be away for two months will put a lot of pressure on the family and increased anxiety on my son. We also have regular visits to specialists coming up during the next six months." Read more

And Plant reveals that while he was "inspired" working on 2010's Band Of Joy, he was excited to get back to the UK to hook up with his group to work on the new record.
He tells CBS This Morning: "To be inspired is a wonderful thing and I spent time in Nashville and made a record with Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller. I was always doing covers, beautiful American pieces, songs I could never have written because they came from their vision of music. So to go back to the UK and actually create something really fresh and new was fantastic.
He continues: "I'm with these guys I've played with before I met Alison Krauss. I went back to Britain and teamed up with my old friends and there's a great ethnic and musically intense combination of West Africa and British trance music.
"I've got a very powerful band, very humorous, very funny - they're like a bunch of brothers." Read more

A statement from the BBC says: "From their beginnings as a band of songwriters in the late 1960s to its final incarnation as a rock giant in the 1990s - via full-blown theatrical progressive rock in the mid-1970s and the subtler jazzy pop of the early 1980s - Genesis could perplex and enrage the die-hards, while exciting and exhilarating the newer disciples.
"Made with the full co-operation of Genesis, the film reunites all original members of the band - Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford."

And to fully concentrate on the recording process, frontman Cormac Neeson says the band have relocated to Spain and reveals the material is their "best yet."
He says: "I think it's time for another album, don't you? Album number five is well under way and sounding like our best yet. We decided we wanted to do away with any unnecessary distractions that might get in the way of the creative process, so we've relocated to Spain for a month.

It's their first outing with drummer Mitch Keith Morris. The group's lyrics deal with the occult and frontman Nathan Opposition says the album will "enlighten" those hearing them for the first time.
He says: "Where there is chaos you will find us. Where there is disorder, others find discomfort but I find salvation. Lead me not unto anything. I am my own. This album will enlighten the fools and give the enlightened something to listen to."

Skolnick tells Music Radar: "I honestly don't remember what it's like to get in a rut. It's always possible to find something inspiring to work on as long as you recognise that what inspires you may change over the years.
"When I was younger, in order to be inspired by a live music recording, I required the energy and excitement of a huge rock concert. UFO's Strangers In The Night, Deep Purple's Made In Japan and The Jimi Hendrix Concerts were all favourites.
"Nowadays, I gain insight from talks, articles and podcasts by creative folk in other fields: writing, visual art, comedy, cooking, science and technology. Just find a topic that interests you and you'll never walk away without feeling stimulated creatively and that always carries over into guitar. No Jedi mind tricks necessary."

"@UniStudios @HorrorNights 3D Clown Maze is killer," tweeted Slash. ". So proud to be involved. Music sounds great. #JohnMurdy has outdone himself. iiii]; )'
The haunted attraction unmasks the psychological disorder known as Coulrophobia, a disturbing condition affecting those with an extreme and irrational fear of clowns.
The psychedelic 3D maze will horrify guests, taunting and tempting them with terror and treats as they parade through Sweet Licks Frozen Clown Pops Family Amusement Center, a dilapidated roadside attraction and one-time thriving ice cream factory run by deranged siblings and their mad clown father, Sweet Licks. As this demented trio schemes to restore the family business by luring visitors with free ice cream, guests will soon find themselves on the menu as the key ingredient of a sick new high-protein ice cream concoction.
"I'm a huge fan of Halloween Horror Nights and was inspired to partner with Universal Studios Hollywood because they are the founders of creating extreme horror," says Slash. "I've been composing music for as long as I can remember and jumped at the chance to be an integral part of this year's event and create the original score for this creepy clown maze."

He describes frontman James Hetfield as "the musical talent in the band for sure," adding: "but at the same time he's a pretty sensitive personality. He's got a strong exterior and he's extremely loyal, and powerful in that way. I learned so much from him as a person and through the music."

The band changed from Entombed to Entombed AD in January, following the departure of guitarist Alex Hellid. And the band's Nico Elgstrand said the name change came about because they wanted to avoid a drawn-out legal battle.
He said: "Alex claimed the name Entombed belongs to him, which it doesn't. But instead of getting into a lawsuit that would have gone on for a long time and wouldn't have made anyone happy except a bunch of lawyers, we decided to add AD and get on with making music and touring as a band."
