Guns N' Roses Didn't Invite Matt Sorum To Reunion (Classic Rock) Former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum has said he wasn't invited to take part in Axl Rose's reunion with classic-era members Slash and Duff McKagan.

The lineup have delivered three shows, with festival appearances and a North American tour to follow, featuring Frank Ferrer behind the kit alongside guitarist Richard Fortus and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese.

Speculation ran high ahead of their surprise club set in Los Angeles that Sorum might take part, with his predecessor Steven Adler expected to play a guest role - but neither of them appeared.

Asked by Twitter user @davidblade69 if he was planning to join GN'R at any of their upcoming shows, Sorum has replied: "No sir, they didn't ask me." Read more here.

The Story So Far Frontman Violently Kicks Female Fan Off Stage (TeamRock Radio) The Story So Far frontman Parker Cannon violently kicked a female fan off stage during the band's Toronto show. The fan-shot video was from the pop-punk outfit's show at the Toronto Mod Club. It shows Cannon kicking the girl off stage as she attempted to take a selfie.

This is not the first time the singer has been embroiled in controversy for violence towards fans who come on stage. Last June, Cannon also kicked a concertgoer who came up from the crowd for a selfie at their show in Houston, Texas.

Mod Club manager Jorge Dias admits he's never seen anything like it in the their 14 years of operation and says The Story So Far have been banned from the venue. Read his comments and watch video of the incident here.

Stone Temple Pilots Star Joins Hollywood Vampires Supergroup (Classic Rock) Hollywood Vampires have called up Stone Temple Pilots' bassist Robert DeLeo for their upcoming North American tour. He's been brought in by Alice Cooper, Aerosmith's Joe Perry and Johnny Depp to replace Duff McKagan who has reunited with Axl Rose and Slash in Guns N' Roses.

Perry tells Rolling Stone: "Here is a gang of friends who came together really by chance and over the last year we were finally able to wrangle our schedules and the energy just fell into place.

"Playing with this lineup is like a dream come true. After seeing the reaction at Rock In Rio in front of 100,000 fans, I know this band is going to tear the house down. Hell, I would want to be in the audience to see us rip it up."

The lineup is completed by drummer Matt Sorum, guitarist Tommy Henriksen, and pianist, percussionist and guitarist Bruce Witkin. The shows, which start next month, are in support of the band's self-titled debut album which launched last year. See the dates here.

Aerosmith's Joe Perry Streaming New Solo Song (hennemusic) Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is streaming his new solo single, "I'll Do Happiness", featuring UK vocalist Terry Reid. Perry has been chipping way at his latest solo venture while Aerosmith is on hiatus as singer Steven Tyler works on his solo debut album.

Producer Jack Douglas hooked Perry up with Reid, someone he's been a fan of for decades. "Terry wasn't that big here in the States in the late 60s," Perry tells Classic Rock, "but I had friends who would go to England every summer and bring back piles of albums, and so I was lucky enough to know about him and when I heard him I thought his voice was incredible. So he came in and we got to know each other a little bit and played some tunes, and wrote some songs, and he was just great to work with."

Reid's own legacy includes an offer from Jimmy Page in 1968 to join him in The New Yardbirds - which went on to become Led Zeppelin. The singer was committed to opening dates on a US tour for Cream, and suggested Page contact Robert Plant for the gig.

While juggling the solo project alongside his duties with the Alice Cooper-led supergroup The Hollywood Vampires, Perry says he felt the need to put out some new music of his own.

"I'm excited to get it out there," he explains. "I had a really great time just hanging with Terry, he's a really 'up' guy, and he's a class act in the studio; he writes the lyrics on the spot and he just nails the vocals.

"And so I wanted to get something out there for people to hear. I haven't actually decided how I'm going to release some of this music, because I don't really know if putting out an album is the right way to go, if people don't buy albums the way they used to." Stream the new song here.

Katatonia Announce 25th Anniversary Shows (Prog) Katatonia have announced two extra European shows for later this year. The gigs will also mark 10 years since the release of their seventh album The Great Cold Distance.

Founding member Anders Nystrom says: "We once put up a poll asking fans which Katatonia album was their all-time favourite. The Great Cold Distance won.

"Over the years there is probably no other album from which we played more songs live and there's probably no other album with the same amount of songs that still remain in our setlist.

"So with mutual love for our decade old distance, we decided to celebrate its anniversary by playing the whole damn thing for you, on two different occasions. First in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, with an orchestra and later in London without an orchestra." Read more here.

Moreno recently said of the follow-up to 2012's Koi No Yokan: "We recorded it in sequence which was an experiment as we've never done anything like that. It was very much like recording something that was fluent from beginning to end.

Slipknot's Jay Weinberg Details Somber First Session With Band (TeamRock Radio) Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has recalled how he started work on .5: The Gray Chapter just hours after being auditioned by the band. And he's enjoying the fact that he now takes part in meet-and-greet sessions with fans, even though he originally wasn't supposed to.

Weinberg, 25, first encountered Slipknot when he was 10 years old, via his father Max, who plays drums for Bruce Springsteen. By the time he was invited to Los Angeles to try out as replacement for Joey Jordison in 2013, he'd been heavily inspired by their music.

Weinberg tells MusicRadar: "It was a somber occasion - there was a definite mood in the room of what the band was going through, moving forward without a brother that has been with them for 20 odd years. I wanted to treat the situation with a delicate, careful respect.

"I wanted to kick the door in with the Slipknot attitude, but I wanted to be respectful of what they were going through because it was a really heavy thing. I was one of the first people to know that the band was moving forward without Joey Jordison." Read more here.

Trivium's Matt Heafy Excited About Current Lineup (TeamRock Radio) Trivium mainman Matt Heafy says the decision to recruit drummer Paul Wandtke has been a revelation. He joined the Florida outfit last year on the recommendation of Dream Theater's Mike Mangini and replaced Mat Madiro who departed due to reasons of "creativity."

And Heafy says even after only a few months with Wandtke, it feels as if he's been part of the group for years. Heafy tells Loudwire: "For the first time in our careers, everything we're playing sounds like the record. I'm not putting that as a fault upon any of the previous drummers, but I'm putting that as a fault of the previous three lineups.

"At each point in time, we had to make a drummer change because our band either wasn't able to perform well or create good music or be functional as a unit anymore. So, thankfully with someone like Paul who comes to the table with a full set of musical pedigree, it allows us to play anything.

"We're playing music from records two-seven now. I finally retrained myself how to scream again, so everything is exactly how it was." Read more here.

Mosley says: "When you're young and touring around, even the second or third time, you're thinking about how much you drank last night and what girl was cute all that kinda crap. And you're looking out the window, but you're not seeing. I guess the one thing about being older is that I will be taking it in a lot more."

The singer says he's most looking forward to returning to the UK and mainland Europe. He adds: "I've always been a groupie of England and Europe, but the people are really nice. When you go to London it's kinda like L.A or New York, but I like it up North and Scotland. I just love it out there." Read more and see the dates here.

The Ever Living Release 'Geometric Sleep' Video (Classic Rock) London quartet The Ever Living are premiering the video for their track 'Geometric Sleep' exclusively with TeamRock. The song is taken from the band's self-titled EP, which was released earlier this month. Fans of Stanley Kubrick may recognize some of the images in the video for this particular track.

Says vocalist and keyboardist Chris Bevan Lee: "We had a few ideas for the Geometric Sleep video but the one you see, using footage from 2001: A Space Odyssey, was essentially our reference for doing something similar ourselves. Over time, we realised that it did exactly the job we wanted it to so there was no point reinventing the wheel. Our style and the length of our songs meant that seeing the video on television was always going to be out of the question, so we used the opportunity to repurpose something that already existed.

"We're living in a remix culture and the tried and tested formula for music videos is stale," he adds. "A video should service the music, not massage the ego. Audiences these days aren't sat in front of a television watching what one music channel puts in front of them all day, but instead making their own selections and listening on YouTube - it means bands can experiment and take risks." Watch the video here.

Rick Wakeman And Neil Innes Lead Sir Henry Soundtrack (Prog) Rick Wakeman and Neil Innes are among the guests who appear alongside comedy actor Michael Livesley on the soundtrack album for Vivian Stanshall play Sir Henry At Rawlinson End.

Livesley has been performing the show for six years to positive responses, with Stephen Fry calling him an "outrageous talent" who "embodies to perfection the spirit and brilliance of Stanshall."

The album is to be released via RRAW Records, co-founded by Wakeman. They say: "Originally created for John Peel's Radio 1 show in the 1970s, Sir Henry At Rawlinson End - the meandering gin-soaked saga of a crumbling English stately home and the grotesques who inhabit it headed by the heroically drunk Sir Henry - perfectly distilled and encapsulated Viv's absurdly hilarious wordplay and songwriting, which first hit the public consciousness during the 1960s via the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band."
