I remember listening to the first Matrix soundtrack. It exposed me to some great music that I probibly wouldn't have listend to on my own. This CD holds true to that as well. I'm already searching for Fluke's stuff and Team Asleep. As for some of the repeat artists: Marilyn Manson's track from the last CD became one of my favorite songs. Even though I don't like him or the words he says or even hard rock for that matter. Same thing with Rob Zombie. Both of them released good songs on this CD as well. Anyone who was a Paul Oakenfold fan would know that his releases under the name Oakenfold have been a little weak. So Dread Rock was a bit of a let down for me, but anyone who liked it should go out and get "Journey into Trance". DMB should never have been allowed to get within ten miles of the matrix. I just don't like them and I don't think they fit in the whole Matrix vibe. Lastly, I think Juno Reactor did a good job on the sound track. Although I think there were some better picks for the job. BT would have been better (He did the soundtrack for The Fast and the Furious.) Propellerheads would have also been a good choice, some of you may remember they did Spybreak! from the first movie.
Overall Rating : 8/10
What would have made it better: No POD or DMB and Paul Oakenfold instead of Oakenfold.

I think the soundtrack was a brilliant, and the best track was in my opinion "Dread Rock" by upcomming techno artists Oakenfold. (NOT to be confused with Paul Oakenfold!!). The Dave Matthews Band remix was interesting and a bold and unique approach to that song. I really enjoyed the soundtrack, and though I have yet to see the movie, if it is anything like the soundtrack, it will be incredible.

Good soundtrack, BEST movie in years. Old fruitcups say it sucks just because they're not used to all the kick a** special effects. Like NE0 said, DON'T TALK SMACK ABOUT IT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN--OR EVEN IF YOU HAVE!!!

Nothing to complain about, except the 17:34 song at the end, which still wasn't that bad. The soundtrack was OK, but since it was Matrix it was awesome-listen for the songs in the movie and it's a lot different. If you haven't seen the movie, DON'T TALK SMACK ABOUT IT

I haven't cared much for MM since Portrait came out, and after seeing P.O.S, oh sorry, D. live, I have no respect for them either. The Oakenfold DMB mix is boring to say the least, and I thought it was sorta weak to just rehash a piece from Matrix 1 and put it out for the next movie (Rob D's Chateau) Other than that, I enjoyed the soundtrack's lineup and sound. I agree that Juno Reactor was a good pick.

I bought the soundtrack, listened to it, thought it was crap. Then I saw the movie, and I could hear all the songs in the fighting situations. Now I have a new respect for it. Put the two together, and you have a kick ass combo.

I'm sorry but you just don't dis a group that's gone triple-platinum (P.O.D.) and get away with it. They were nominated for four MTV awards, Echo awards, etc. At the Echo awards they got "2003 International Group of the Year." A very special honor considering the other artists in the category: Korn, Linkin Park, Puddle of Mudd, and Coldplay. They also got two Grammys. If you dis the other groups I won't complain, but this group is one of the world's most poular. I don't care if they aren't your style, maybe you march to the beat of a different drum.

mithy D - P.O.D. is much better than the freak of nature who calls himself Marilyn Manson. Rob Zombie is pretty cool, but the one by LP is just music. It's not as good as "Hit The Floor" for example. As for the rest...it looks OK.

if any of you actually understood proper music, you wouldn't be calling music crap. Regardless on your personal taste, all of the songs will appeal to others. I hate when people say somethings crap merely because they don't like it. Wait till the film and the soundtrack come out till you make a judgement. Even if you heard or dislike the band.

Speaking of Matrix Reloaded, think of the movies this year -Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, T3, X2 (What, are these movies, or compounds?), Dumb and Dumber 2, and The Return of The King- all sequels/prequels, but, hopefully a good year for movies.

Juno Reactor! Cool... You should give a try to these guys. Their style is very impressive. A mix of world beat, blended in techno patterns which create a very spiritual experience, without becomming sh*tty trance music. I think this album will bring many new fans to Juno Reactor...

My favorite orchestra composers who do soundtracks are Jerry Goldsmith & Hans Zimmer. Kamen is ok, but his work in S&M (with METALLICA) was really incredible.

Don Davis is orchestra composer, he also did the music for the universal solider(one with goldberg in it) movie and had a few songs on the cd soundtrack. he is a very good composer. right up with williams and kamen.

Oakenfold's the right stuff. Superb techno. Rob Zombie, RATM (even though it's not a new song) are cool to have on the soundtrack too. But then you have half-assed bands like LINKIN PARK, MARILYN MANSON, POD which will make this a mediocre soundtrack. And not too excited about a DMB creation (with an Oakenfold remix? Weird!) either... I don't think it fits on the soundtrack of a futuristic techno thriller. MATRIX was a good idea, but had a weak storyline & that was covered by stupendous special effects & action sequences. Not as powerful as The Terminator series... although I think T III is going to be an action fest rather than a solid science fiction film. Coz James Cameron is not doing it. Well, another promising movie would be I, ROBOT, based on Isaac Asimov's fabulous SF novel series.

Deftones, MM, Rob Zombie: hell yeah. I thought a new Zack de la Rocha song was going to be on the soundtrack, not an old RATM song.

manson and rob zombie arent too bad, but pod and linkin park make me grimace. who the hell is don davis? F that soundtrack. hope the movie doesnt suck as much as it does.
