The board levied a $ 2,193 fine against Kramer for late filings of campaign finance disclosure forms from his unsuccessful run for mayor three years ago. "My campaign committee only collected $7,000 total," Kramer said. "I figured it was so little I didn't have to file."
He finally did decide to file and the forms were late. Kramer said that the forms were turned in late because of bugs in the Campaign Finance Board's software which kept crashing the computer of his accountant. Kramer plans to fight the fine and according to AP, blasted the board, saying "this is an agency run amok."
Kramer ran as the Libertarian Party candidate
for New York City Mayor and received 1,408 votes.
