Elliott Smith Death Will Remain A Mystery

The true cause of Elliot Smiths death will
remain a mystery. Authorities initially thought that the Grammy award winning
singer-songwriter had committed suicide; however the coroner was unable
to determine whether the deadly stab wounds were self-inflicted or came
from the hand of another person.
The singer/songwriter, real name Steven
Paul Smith, died October 21 at the USC Medical Center after his girlfriend
found him wounded in his Los Angeles apartment.
Many believed at the time that Smith took
his own life. Last Tuesday, the coroners office released the findings
of their investigation and they found that the cause of death was inconclusive.
"Despite a comprehensive and ongoing inquiry
into the death by the LAPD detectives and coroner investigators together
with a thorough examination by the coroner's pathologist, the mode of death
remains 'Undetermined' due to incomplete knowledge of the circumstances
surrounding the death," the coroner said in a statement.
The LAPD plan to continue investigating
the cause of the singers death.
