 Incredibles Beat Santa & Others at Box Office

(antiTainment) Santa Claus was no match for "The Incredibles" at the box office this weekend. The animated features competed for the top slot and the Pixar super hero adventure easily won, remaining the top movie for a second week. 

When the dust settled and estimates of the weekend box office were made it appeared that "The Incredibles" had another incredible weekend, taking in $51 million. "The Polar Express" which opened to critical raves managed a distant second place finish with its $23.5 million weekend debut (the film has earned $30.8 million since opening Wednesday.) 

Even James Bond star Pierce Brosnan was no match for the animated heavyweights this weekend. His new heist film, "After the Sunset" finished third with a $11.5 million gross.   "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" made a strong showing in its limited release debut (530 theatres), landing at No. 4 with $8.9 million. The Renee Zellweger sequel will receive a wide release next weekend. 

The top five was rounded out by another sequel, "Seed of Chucky," which earned $8.8 million for its opening weekend.
