God Forbid Update
08/10/05
.
(Century Media) On September 19th , 2005 Century Media Records will release God Forbid's IV: Constitution of Treason, their fourth full-length release. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan), the album-a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world-further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly respected bands in metal today. [see full story for a lot more on the new CD, new video, tracks, exclusive UK show and more]

Lead guitarist Doc Coyle comments on this highly anticipated album: "I'm extremely excited for our fans, new and old, to get a listen of this album. It's a big step for God Forbid and I feel that we have made our most diverse, deep and emotional record with out sacrificing heaviness or artistic identity. In a current musical environment, where there seem to a lot of boring, safe records, I feel confident that we've continued to take chances while challenging ourselves to be a better band. With all of that said, we made the record we wanted to make, and we couldn't be happier with the results."

TRACK LISTING:
01. The End of the World
02. Chains of Humanity
03. Into the Wasteland
04. The Lonely Dead
05. Divinity
06. Under This Flag
07. To the Fallen Hero
08. Welcome to the Apocalypse (Preamble)
09. Constitution of Treason
10. Crucify Your Beliefs

THE ALBUM ARTWORK:
Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore), who also illustrated God Forbid's previous album Gone Forever, created the cover art. Says Doc, "Once again Travis has hit it out of the ball park. The artwork for Constitution... metaphorically displays what this album and it's content is really about. It perfectly captures the lyrical darkness and the apocalyptic nature of the album's concept."

THE MAKING OF THE ALBUM:
The album's first pressing will be a limited edition dual-disc featuring, in addition to the album itself, The Act of Treason; an exclusive, making-of-the-album, behind-the-scenes documentary featuring band interviews and tons of in-studio footage that takes you from rehearsals to pre-production all the way to the mastering of IV: Constitution of Treason. Guitarist and vocalist Dallas Coyle says, "The whole process of recording this record was a very interesting one, partly due to the fact that we're not very normal people! Prepare for Jason Suecof because some of his antics are definitely off the wall! He really helped the record come together while keeping the process interesting, even though sometimes I want to choke the shit out of him! This film documents our efforts in bringing the album to life is about as to-the-core and in-depth as it gets."

THE FIRST VIDEO:
Director Eric Shamlin will oversee the album's first video and single in August ("Chains of Humanity"). Expect the unexpected as this will not be your average band-performing-in-a-warehouse metal video. Says Dallas, "The new video will be shot in San Fransisco with Eric. He's mainly done commercials and short films so we're very excited in getting an outside-of-the-metal-scene point of view on our band. Let's just say that the video is very ambitious and will be something extremely different than what God Forbid has done video-wise to this point."

THE EXCLUSIVE LONDON SHOW:
