The funniest award of the night went to Gwen Stefoni (that's not a typo) who actually earned a best new artist award. Maybe they were thinking of her new ghetto personality and solo career and no doubt forgot that's she's been around the block a bit?
50 Cent won the artist and album of the year honors as well as the most important award of the night for best ringtone but was too busy pimpin' to attend. Green Day snagged rock artist and best pop group awards as well as best rock song honors for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".
Tom Petty was honored with the Century Award recognizing his 30 year career. Kanye West won something called The Artist Achievement Award. Exactly what that achievement is we do not know.
