3 Doors Down Extend Tour
05/11/05
.
(press release) 3 Doors Down announce dates for their 2005 Summer Tour. Starting in Europe on June 2nd, the 12x platinum selling band comes back to the US June 30th to start a 40 city North American tour that will run through mid September 2005. Featuring Staind and Breaking Benjamin, the Summer Tour will have the band performing in sheds, amphitheatres, arenas, fairs and festivals throughout the US and Canada including the Tweeter Waterfront Centre in Camden, NJ; DTE Energy Center in Clarkston, MI, and the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY. Ticket prices range from $20 to $65 and are available at the band’s website

No stranger to the road, 3 Doors Down has performed over 1000 shows in the past 5 years since their major label debut on Republic/Universal. Labeled “America’s favorite rock band” by both NASCAR and NFL fans alike, 3 Doors Down started touring earlier this year (remaining May dates below) in support of their new CD Seventeen Days. That album, already certified platinum by the RIAA, entered the Billboard Album Chart at #1 in February and 12 weeks later is one of the Top 30 albums selling in the US today. Their new single “Let Me Go” went TOP 5 at rock radio and recently crossed over to Pop Radio- entering Top Ten on play lists around the country.

The band, Brad Arnold (lead singer), Matt Roberts (guitar), Chris Henderson (guitar), Todd Harrell (bass) from Escatawpa, Mississippi along with new drummer Greg Upchurch has captured entertainment headlines across the country, including the New York Times’ “Third Album is The Charm” and NY Post “3 Doors Equals No. 1.” The Associated Press (2/11/05) says, “hard rocking riffs and sensitive lyrics…with it’s third album, Seventeen Days, the band has blown away most of its competition.”

In addition to cuts from their new album, concert goers can expect to hear some of the band’s other #1 hits from their previous 12x multi-platinum selling albums The Better Life and Away From The Sun, including songs “Here Without You”, “When I’m Gone”, “Be Like That”, “Loser”, “Duck and Run” and “Kryptonite.”

On the road with the band this time out will be multi-platinum rockers Staind and Breaking Benjamin. According to Brad Arnold, 3 Doors Down asked these bands to accompany them because “We wanted to put together an awesome rock show for the summer and both Staind and Breaking Benjamin compliment what we do. We really like their sound and more importantly they’re cool to work with. We’ve been out on the road with Breaking Benjamin this spring and it’s been great-we’re looking forward to having Staind join us in June. We really enjoy performing to summer audiences, people are more relaxed, everyone’s ready to party and when you have two cool bands on the bill with you-well, that just makes our day better.”

CHAPTER V, STAIND’s upcoming studio album is set for release August 9 on Flip/Atlantic. This marks the band’s fifth album and is the follow-up to their 14 shades of grey. With chart-topping international success, multi-platinum album sales and critical accolades, STAIND--singer AARON LEWIS, guitarist MIKE MUSHOK, bassist JOHNNY APRIL and drummer JON WYSOCKI--are leaving an indelible mark on the contemporary music scene. The band’s last two releases--2003’s critically acclaimed 14 shades of grey and 2001’s quadruple platinum BREAK THE CYCLE--both entered the Billboard “Top 200 Album Chart” at #1. Writing in the Los Angeles Times (5/18/03) about 14 SHADES OF GREY, Robert Hilburn described STAIND as “a connection you feel in the purity and conviction of Aaron Lewis' voice as well as in themes that examine matters of youthful self-esteem in ways that are both sympathetic and vulnerable.” STAIND’s intensity was also displayed on their 2002 gold-certified DVD MTV Unplugged.

Breaking Benjamin is touring in support of their nearly platinum album We Are Not Alone. Released in June 2004 on (Hollywood Records), We Are Not Alone was recorded in New York with producer David Bendeth, and features songs co-written by Breaking Benjamin vocalist Ben Burnley and Grammy-winning artist Billy Corgan. We Are Not Alone is the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2002 debut Saturate and features the hit single “So Cold” and their current charting single “Sooner or Later.”
