(Epic) In a recent episode of the Fox show "The O.C.", Peter Gallagher showed off his amazing vocal talent when he sung a stirring version of a soul classic. In fact, singing is a lifelong passion of Peter Gallagher and he has showcased this talent fervently throughout his extensive film and stage career. This November 8th, Peter Gallagher will release his first album 7 Days in Memphis with Epic Records. The album is an assortment of cherished soul numbers from the Memphis Stax era as well as newer songs done in the Memphis soul sound.

For the recording of the album, Peter Gallagher embarked to Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee - dubbed Soulsville USA in the storied Stax era when it cranked out artists like Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding, the Staple Singers, Wilson Pickett, Luther Ingram, Booker T. & the MG's and more. Over the course of these seven days in the studio, Gallagher was joined by a mix of young players who are Memphis soul fans as well as some legends who wrote and played on the originals soul classic.

Steve Cropper, the renowned guitarist of Booker T & the MGs and writer of "Sitting On A Dock On A Bay," "In The Midnight Hour," etc. graces the entire album. "Peter is a great actor on screen but he's not acting in the studio," comments Steve Cropper. "He has real soul and sings with great passion. I'm sure Peter and this project will enjoy much success and I hope we get to work together again in the future."

Produced by Mike Mangini (Joss Stone), 7 Days in Memphis seeps in authenticity with performances from legendary soul singer Betty Wright who contributes vocals and from the surviving members of the Acme Horns and the drummer, keyboardist, and bassist from Joss Stone's band. Among the tracks are "When You Move You Lose" made famous by Carla and Rufus, "When Something Is Wrong with My Baby" made famous by Sam & Dave, "Still I Long for Your Kiss" recorded by Lucinda Williams and "Don't Give Up On Me" previously recorded by Solomon Burke.

Currently, Peter Gallagher stars as public defender Sandy Cohen in Fox's hit drama, "The O.C." One of America's most respected actors, his new role as a signed recording artist adds to a remarkable career which boasts Tony Award winning Broadway roles, acclaimed film and television performances, and work with many charities.
