(PR) Santa Catalina Island will rock this September 29 - October 1, when the 2006 Catalina Island Blues Festival salutes veteran Blues/rocker and Avalon resident, Spencer Davis, founder of the Spencer Davis Group (SDG), one of the most exciting, influential groups to come out of England in the early 1960s. The Festival kicks off Friday night with the Avalon Blues Walk, featuring a variety of Blues Bands performing at establishments throughout Avalon. A blues band plays Saturday afternoon on Wrigley Stage in Avalon. Then, Saturday night at the Casino Ballroom, Spencer Davis is featured performer, with special guests Chicago-based Roger Connelly & The Blues Merchants opening the show.
