The Deal with Birds Of Avalon

.
(PR) Raleigh, North Carolina's Birds Of Avalon, who feature Paul Siler and Cheetie Kumar formerly of The Cherry Valence, have signed to Volcom Entertainment. Their as yet untitled album is in the final stages of mixing with producer's Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Let's Active, Wilco), Greg Elkins and Brian Quast, and will be released this coming Spring 2007.

Having developed a unique psychedelic meets progressive sound that yields feelings that transcend the conventions of both, the Birds Of Avalon skillfully channel elements of a time in Rock since past, while representing their current place in the lineage of North Carolinian independent rock heritage. Easily traversing the gray area between raw blues rock and atmospheric pysch-pop, Birds Of Avalon have recorded a self titled e.p., toured up and down the east coast, throughout the Midwest and eventually around the entire US earlier this summer, sharing the stage with luminaries such as Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, ----ing Champs, Big Business, Oneida, Mudhoney, Valient Thorr, Destroyer, Federation X and Drunk Horse.
