(DiR/CMJ) Looks like Roadrunner Records has been sold. No, not to Hot Topic, but to Warner Music Group. CMJ has these details: Warner Music Group announced today that it is acquiring 73.5 percent of Roadrunner Music Group, B.V. for a $73.5 million dollar purchase price in a deal expected to end in January. The Dutch-based company, founded by Cees Wessels in 1980, will now become a freestanding label group within the Atlantic Records group, with no staff turnover. With the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum group Nickelback as their most valuable asset, Roadrunner's roster includes Slipknot, Stone Sour, Killswitch Engage, Megadeth, Black Label Society and Trivium, among others. Over their 26-year history, they've become the third-leading heavy metal label in the US. - Click here for the Full Story
