Taking Back Sunday Tour

02/17/06
.
(Fanscape) On the heels of a string of SOLD OUT UK tour dates, melodic rock band Taking Back Sunday announced today they will tour the U.S. prior to the release of their upcoming Warner Bros. Records debut and third studio album, Louder Now, due out April 25, 2006. This House of Blues presented tour hits smaller venues, which highlights the band’s desire to share new material with their fans in a more intimate setting. The tour kicks off in Boulder, Colorado on March 31st at the Boulder Theatre.

"It’s really exciting to go out and play our new songs in smaller venues", says bassist Matt Rubano. "We just played some shows in England and the response was intense. Our last tour in the U.S. was incredible. We couldn't believe we were playing in arenas. As exciting as that was, we are just as excited to start off in a more intimate environment to kick off LOUDER NOW."

Since roaring onto the scene with their 2002 debut, Tell All Your Friends, the New York-based quintet— which now includes lead vocalist Adam Lazarra, guitarist-vocalist Fred Mascherino, guitarist Eddie Reyes, bassist Matt Rubano, and drummer Mark O’Connell—have captivated fans with their powerful and inventive pop-tinged anthems, dueling vocals and twin guitar assault. In July 2004, the band followed up the half-million selling release with Where You Want to Be, which debuted at Number Three on the Billboard Top 200 and sold more than 163,000 copies its first week. Both albums have since been certified gold, selling over 700,000 copies.

"We're excited to be presenting Taking Back Sunday’s spring tour,” said Elyse Rogers, Senior Manager, HOB Touring,” Taking Back Sunday are really connected with their fans and wanted to do something special for them for this record release tour. This club run will be an amazing experience for their diehard fans that manage to get tickets. They'll come back through and blow out the big tour later in the year."

Tickets for the tour will be available as follows:

Wednesday, February 22 at 9:00am to Thursday, February 23 at 10:00pm, an advance presale will be available through www.takingbacksunday.com

Friday, February 24 from 10:00am to 10:00pm, a radio and House Of Blues member ticketing presale will be available at www.hob.com
