Rock Ridge Ink Accident Experiment

01/31/06
.
(Press Release) Southern California hard rock quartet The Accident Experiment has signed to Rock Ridge Music and will be releasing their first full-length album, “United We Fear,” in May. Featuring Marcos Curiel, formerly of P.O.D., on guitar, AeX is rounded out by Ernie Longoria (drums), Tony DeLocht (bass), and Pete Stewart (vocals). The band, who have released an EP already, have toured extensively, opening for the likes of Foo Fighters, Korn, Damage Plan, Drowning Pool, Sevendust, Staind, and others. Metal Edge magazine named the band one of its 20 Bands To Watch in 2005. “United We Fear” will hit stores and digital distribution portals simultaneously this spring. Said Rock Ridge principal Tom Derr: "The Accident Experiment has created a great work of music that has been in my CD player since the day I received it, and now Rock Ridge will see that it is heard by the masses." Curiel commented: “Given the music industry's current state of evolution, we feel that Rock Ridge Music is the perfect outlet for The Accident Experiment's creative vision. This is only the beginning."

Continuing their trend of digital-only releases, Rock Ridge Music has several digital EPs planned for release over the next several months. February 7th will find an EP due out from Kittie, while the Ike Reilly Assassination will release an acoustic EP in April. In May, Five.Bolt.Main is scheduled to release a live EP. Excited about the ongoing digital offerings, Rock Ridge principal Jason Spiewak said: “The online music world continues to be a source of growth for our artists.”

As part of continued dedication to online marketing opportunities for both artists signed to the label and their online marketing clients, Rock Ridge launched a three-song sampler interface earlier this month called Ghidrah, which is can be explored on the website www.rockridgemusic.com under the “music” section. Billed as “an innovative way for fans to discover new music,” the interface allows the user to click three different “monster heads” to hear music from three different artists. The content is rotated and changed weekly. In addition to appearing on the Rock Ridge site, Ghidrah has been picked up by a number of other sites as a means to offer new music without having to program it themselves. Already it is being featured by Windows Media Guide, TeenMusic.com, and AntiMusic.com, among others.

In addition to the Ghidrah, Rock Ridge Music has secured promotional partnerships with several music web sites on their upcoming frontline releases. Participating bands are offering links and site information in album packaging and touring materials in exchange for promotion within their partner music site’s network. Upcoming partnerships in this program include Stroke 9 partnering with www.live365.com, Domeshots with www.rockislife.com, Six Ounce Gloves with www.alternativeaddiction.com and Redding with www.antimusic.com.

Launched in 2004, Rock Ridge Music offers its artists a label, artist management (if needed), national distribution, and a place to develop and maintain a solid career in the music business. Rock Ridge Music can be found online at http://www.rockridgemusic.com.
