(PR) Golem is a 6 piece Eastern European folk-punk band whose sound might best be described as where Eastern Europe meets NYC's Lower East Side. They've paired with JDub Records (Matisyahu, Balkan Beat Box) and producer Emery Dobyns (Patti Smith, Antony and the Johnsons, the Battles) to create Fresh Off Boat, an album in which contributions from Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), Mike Gordon (Phish), and Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group) meld seamlessly into reworked Jewish, Gypsy, and Slavic folk songs. Fresh Off Boat (a reference to how recently arrived immigrants call each other F.O.B.s) hits stores August 22nd and notorious publications from Village Voice to The New York Times have already taken notice.Catch Golem On Tour
