Arif Mardin RIP

(antiMusic) 11 time Grammy winner Arif Mardin died at the age of 74. The famed Turkish-born record producer was the man behind the nobs for several hits for artists ranging from Aretha Franklin to the Bee Gees and Willie Nelson during his 43 year career, 30 spent with Atlantic Records. He also operated his own label for EMI where he signed up Norah Jones for her first album.

Mardin passed away on Sunday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
