(PR) On May 1, Eagle Eye Media will release Volunteer Jam, the 1976 two-hour+ feature film taking the viewer back to 75 for one of the greatest of the Charlie Daniels Bands greatest Jams. Filmed at the bands annual Tennessee homecoming, this 30-year tradition has consistently infused a country honky-tonk appeal with a jolt of rockin electricity. From the swizzle-stick of Daniels fiddle, from which he mixes the melting genres, to the guest artists who blend their oversized personalities down to achieve a puree of thick Southern greasiness, these Jams bring out the best. And this one, 75-style, might be the granddaddy Jam of all.
The CDBsinger/songwriter/guitarist/fiddler Daniels, guitarist Tom Crain, organist Taz DiGregorio, bassist Charlie Hayward and drummers Fred Edwards/Don Murraywas riding high in 75. Souths Gonna Do It (Again) and Long Haired Country Boy were ubiquitous, catching the souls of Northern teens as well as wanna-be cowboys all over America. Pre-dating the fashion-conscious Urban Cowboy craze by five years, the CDB was showing America how cool country could be, especially when booted in the behind by some straight-out rocknroll.This first-ever Charlie Daniels DVD includes a special 2007 interview with the man himself. This years Volunteer Jam with The Marshall Tucker Band starts April 27 in Greenville, SC and ends July 28 in Wallingford, CT. Track Listing
