LifeTransformed.org provides education and resources to war wounded caregivers and military spouses through private and corporate entities. Life Transformed increases awareness of the long-term needs of these families and supports them as they re-enter the civilian sector. Melanie's efforts have been lauded by a multitude of military family support organizations, including AmericaSupportsYou.org, for which Melanie recorded a video public service announcement that was broadcast to over 16 million military households in the US, as well as military personnel in 177 countries, on the Armed Forces Network and the Pentagon Channel.

Melanie wrote �Fall In/Wounded Soldier,� during the long trip from Vancouver to New York where she first performed it at a benefit concert in New York for The U.S. Wounded Soldiers Foundation. Melanie states, �The �wounded soldier� in my song represents more than the physically wounded. It's emotional, and it's psychological. It's about being brave enough to love again after your heart has been wounded or broken. It's about healing with love. So, it really is a love song.�
