[originally published 08/01/07](antiMusic) A Ted Nugent fan was beaten during the gonzo rocker's performance Friday night at the Chicago Ridge's Ridgefest. Jim Volpe was taking photos and video with his camcorder when another man challenged him about the taping. It quickly devolved into assault when Volpe refused to turn over his camera. "This guy, out of nowhere, just walked up and said, 'Give me the camera,' " Volpe told Chicago Daily Southtown. Volpe told the man that he would give him the tape but not his $600 camera and the man responded, "It's too late for that now" and put Volpe in a headlock while Volpe's girlfriend grabbed the camcorder. She ran away when the man dropped Volpe and looked at her. Volpe spent five hours in the emergency room of Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment of neck and back injuries. - more on this story
