[originally published 06/11/07](Gigwise) My Chemical Romance have laughed off Marilyn Manson's recent accusations they have copied his sound. Singer Gerard Way has accused Manson of self-promotion after he revealed 'Mutilation Is The Most Sincere Form Of Flattery' off his new album 'Eat Me, Drink Me' is an attack on MCR for peddling a "sad, pitiful, shallow version" of his own work. Way tells Rock Sound magazine, "If Elvis Costello said we sucked we would think about it a bit but usually it is comments from someone with a new record to promote so the remarks ring hollow. - more on this story
