[originally published 05/16/07](Gigwise) Bruce Springsteen's 'Born In The USA' has been voted the greatest rock album of all time in a new poll. The 1984 album beat off competition from bands including Nirvana and The Clash to top the survey, which was carried out in conjunction with a new BBC rock documentary. [for some very strange reason] Dire Straits 1985 album 'Brothers In Arms,' came in at number two in the poll, just ahead of Nirvana's seminal 1991 album, 'Nevermind,' which was described as a "snapshot of those times." Other notable bands to make the top ten included The Clash with 'London Calling,' and the 'White Album' by The Beatles.
