(PR) Brooklyn songwriter Ben Godwin will donate $1 of proceeds from every record sale of his new record Skin and Bone to LIFEbeat The Music Industry Fights AIDS. LIFEbeat~ The Music Industry Fights AIDS is the music industrys foremost response to the AIDS pandemic, mobilizing the talents and the resources of the music industry to spread the message of HIV prevention and to provide service to the AIDS community. HIV is not only a problem in Africa, comments Ben. 1 in 25 men living in Manhattan have the virus and its the 4th leading cause of death around the world.

Ben lends his time to help educate and prevent the spread of HIV, when not taking on the busy task of his music career. He recently performed a private, free show for HIV patients at the Rivington House in NYC for LIFEbeats Hearts and Voices outreach program. LIFEbeats Hearts & Voices is an ongoing concert series for people living with HIV/AIDS. Hearts & Voices produces over 200 shows annually in New York City alone, with volunteer musicians from all genres donating their time and talents to the cause, giving the healing gift of live music. May 2007 marks Hearts & Voices history as the program expands its outreach to the Miami area! Past performers for the program include Destinys Child, Jewel, Floetry and Edwin McCain.
