. (PR) Alan Vega � one-half of the seminal electronic duo Suicide � is to release "Station" on July 31, 2007 through Blast First / Mute. "Station" marks the latest decisive stage in a musical journey that began for Alan Vega way back in 1970 in downtown New York. A visual artist and singer, Vega teamed up with the classically trained Martin Rev to form Suicide. Always ahead of their time, Vega and Rev were the first to use the word �punk� in a musical context. Together they formed Suicide, whose minimalist music, a fusion of Rev's ominous, repetitive keyboards and Vega's rockabilly snarl, helped paved the way for the electronic artists of the future. Meanwhile, Vega�s own music continued to evolve and amaze. "Station" � Vega's 10th solo record � was recorded in New York between 2004 - 2006 and is not only self-produced, all instruments are played by Vega as well.
