They became aware of each other's music courtesy of Aimee Mann, an avid supporter of both artists. (Jenny recently opened for Ms. Mann in London and Sean sings background vocals on her next record.)
"Sean Hayes is a dreamboat." Jenny recently said in her typical deadpan style. "I find his music hypnotic, delicious, yet not too filling. I like his songs so much, I wish we weren't going on tour together so that we could have authentically anonymous sex." We're reasonably certain that she's joking.
Sean, in a more serious tone notes that "Jenny has a vibrant and clear voice. It sounds like she's having a good time...I look forward to traveling and sharing the stage with her."
The tour promises to feature a full set from both artists, each closing the show in alternating cities, as well as Jenny's acid wit, Sean's dance floor poetry and an occasional on-stage Bingo game. (B-9!!) Also featured on the tour (from Nov. 8th onwards) will be Jim Bianco. The LA Weekly said of Bianco "...[he's] catapulted himself onto a level of eclectic song craft on par with Elvis Costello and Tom Waits."
