(antiMusic) Mos Def has joined an already star packed cast of "Cadillac Records," a film about the legendary Chess Records. Mos Def is set to portray Chuck Berry in the film.He'll join other stars like Beyonce (Etta James), Adrien Brody (Chess co-founder Leonard Chess), Jeffrey Wright (Muddy Waters), Columbus Short (Little Walter), Eamonn Walker (Howlin' Wolf) Gabrielle Union (Geneva Wade, Muddy Waters girlfriend) and Cedric the Entertainer (Willie Dixon). The script was written by Darnell Martin ("Their Eyes Were Watching God," "I Like It Like That") who is also on tap to direct the effort. According to Varity, the "rock 'n' roll pic charts sex, violence and the civil rights movement along with the music biz in 1950s Chicago. Sony BMG Films anticipates a 2009 release."
