The National MS Society, which will benefit from the Roxy show's proceeds, is dedicated to creating a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. The Southern California Chapter is part of a 50-state network that advances the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's mission. The National MS Society funds more MS research, provides more services to people with MS, offers more professional education and furthers more advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. The Society invests $45 million annually to fuel the efforts of hundreds of researchers throughout the U.S. and abroad. That investment is paying off in significant advances toward finding improved treatments as well as better diagnoses, rehabilitation and symptom therapy.
The Southern California Chapter provides outstanding, comprehensive programs and support services designed to help people with MS and their families better address the challenges of living with this unpredictable disease.
Coleman, the organizer of the benefit, said, "Any opportunity I get to raise awareness around an issue that I know affects all of us on some level I try to seize. A dear friend of mine is battling MS and I've wanted to put together a benefit in her honor for a long time. I'm honored and SO excited that Teri Garr, Ed Begley Jr., Amoeba and the other artists have come on board to make it a very special night."
