Metallica Release Another Song, Fall Out Boy Set Release, Lynyrd Manson, Ozzfest Tour 09, VMAs Short A Pop Tart, My Digital Valentine and more

(antiMusic) Metallica just released the second single off their upcoming album, Death Magnetic today. Entitled "My Apocalypse," the track is now available for download on iTunes. Death Magnetic will be available everywhere on September 12th.

MTV spokesmodels Fall Out Boy have officially announced their upcoming new third Island album Folie A Deux, to be released on November 4th 2008. Folie A Deux was produced by Neal Avron at The Pass Studios in Los Angeles. The first single will be the track "I Don't Care."

Sharon Osbourne appeared on Studio 94 again Tuesday morning. She gave host Metro some more info on the Jack produced documentary of Ozzy, saying that during The Osbournes Ozzy was using the whole time, and this documentary is not about the funny side but gets back to the music and his accomplishments. Britney Spears won't perform on this year's MTV Video Music Awards, according to her manager. "Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year's VMAs," manager Larry Rudolph said in a statement. more

According to Rushisaband.com, today Harmonix Music Systems released Rush's Moving Pictures album for download for the Rock Band video game ... or ... it was supposed to have released it for download today. Apparently there are some technical difficulties having to do with the vocal track on 'YYZ' ... the problem being that there is no vocal track on 'YYZ'. more

Hatebreed's upcoming covers album is now on track for a 2009 release. "At first we were kind of just screwing around for the hell of it, recording other band's songs," Novinec tells Billboard.com. "It wasn't intended to be released. But the more that we got into it, it was like, 'Hey, let's roll with it' and became something we wanted to do." more
