"They Say," the first track from the band's self-titled debut, is iTune's chosen Single of the Week for this week, inviting people to download the track for free. On the FIRST DAY ALONE, "They Say" was downloaded more than 100,000 times!
And bear in mind that "They Say" had previously been available on Scars' website and MySpace page and was played nearly 450,000 times! iTunes' "Song of the Week" features music by a new artist.
Scars played a small club in London recently, and in its live, 5-K review, the UK hard rock Bible Kerrang! wrote, "...what shines the brightest tonight are the songs...these are more mainstream songs than System ever wrote, songs that reflect Malakian's desire to write music that people will think about rather than just mosh to...As he performs them, delivering lyrics that veer from bitter to poignant, from self-loathing to pointed, he manages to coney both an intensity of feeling while remaining entirely engaging..."
Scars on Broadway's debut is released July 29 on Interscope.
