Let's put it this way, this is the final record of our commitment with Rick Rubin. When we first signed a deal with him back in 1986, we never sat down and said, 'How long do you guys want to keep this together?'" more

Kid Rock has been sentenced to a year's probation and fined $1,000 for his role in a fight at a suburban Atlanta Waffle House last fall. more

Get a good spot and watch Sam Champion boogie down. Bryant Park NYC is at 41st and 6th Avenue, behind the New York Public Library. When you arrive at Bryant Park stand on the general audience line that has formed at the back entrance of the park. This is a free concert open to the public. You do not need tickets. You may bring signs and wear t-shirts in support of the artist.
Swedish rockers The Windupdeads will release their self-titled debut October 7th, 2008 on One Eleven Records, but would already like to extend a gift to their fans. The Windupdeads are offering a Free Acoustic Download Of "Reverse Of Shade," an Exclusive 'sleepy version' of the track that introduced the band to the U.S. through the CW smash Gossip Girl. Join Sponge and Marcy's Playground for a one of a kind rock and roll adventure on the high seas. Both bands will be featured entertainers on Carnival's Fascination for a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas on Oct. 23 � 27, 2008. The cruise departs from Jacksonville, Florida and includes stops in Freeport and Nassau. Each band will play full electric and acoustic shows, in addition to hanging out with fans during on board cocktail parties, poker tournaments and autograph sessions. more

Rock veteran Robert Plant squares off against teenage singer/songwriter Adele on the 12-album shortlist for the 2008 Nationwide Mercury Prize, announced in London this morning. The shortlist, chosen from an entry of over 240 albums by British artists, was announced by radio/TV presenter Lauren Laverne at London's Hospital Club. The 12 nominated albums are: Adele, "19" (XL); British Sea Power, "Do You Like Rock Music?"
