Hollow Corp Set US Release

06/24/2008
.
(Prosthetic Records) Prosthetic Records is proud to announce the release of French metal band Hollow Corp.'s debut record, 'Cloister of Radiance,' throughout North America.

Originally released in Europe last September through Swedish label Dental Records, the deal will make 'Cloister of Radiance' available domestically for the first time on September 30.

"We're feeling really honored joining such a great label like Prosthetic," Hollow Corp. frontman Stephane Azam says. "They have awesome bands and a vision of the music that corresponds with our own. Let us hope to cross the Atlantic soon! We also wish to thank Dental Records for their great job in Europe!"

"After a huge success in Europe, Hollow Corp. is ready to 'audioslave' the audience across the Atlantic," Dental Records label manager Omer Akay says. "We are very pleased to have found such a great partner in the US; with Prosthetic's help, we will make Hollow Corp. a force to be reckoned with."

Nestled in the wine district of Alsace near the northeastern border of the band's native country, France's Hollow Corp. comes from humble beginnings as the band Coverage, founded in 1999. Taking up its current moniker in 2005, the band has all the while noisily - and masterfully - combined heavy metal's raw intensity with a post-hardcore flair of dissonance and down-tempo sludge moments in the years since its inception. With the release of the band's first album, Cloister of Radiance, in the fall of 2007 throughout Europe on Sweden's Dental Records, Hollow Corp. ultimately caught the eye of both European press outlets and of Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records, positioning the label to release 'Cloister of Radiance' this coming fall throughout North America.

From the straight, galloping metal attack of "Sabbat" to the nearly 12-minute brooding and brewing "Peripherals" and the progressive juxtaposition of the focus track, "Thujon," Hollow Corp. intriguingly melds a host of metal styles together that one may not first think conceivable. But, much like fellow, like-minded countrymen Gojira, Hollow Corp. manages to pull off a sound both progressive and pummeling without feeling standoffish.

In the meantime, three tracks from the album are currently available on the HOLLOW CORP. MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/hollowcorp), as is the music video for the track "Thujon," 'Cloister of Radiance''s last track.
