(PR) Virgin Records southern rock quintet Saving Abel will be bringing their hard-playing, hard-partying sound all around the country, with the announcement of a two-month series of tour dates with Puddle of Mudd, kicking off in early July.Since the March release of the band's self-titled Skiddco/Virgin debut album, the featured track "Addicted" has zoomed to the No. 2 position nationally at active rock radio, also rising in the Top 10 at mainstream rock, and the Top 20 at the alternative rock format.
Saving Abel - named after the Biblical sibling of Cain - was formed by Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null in 2004 in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi. Now based in Memphis, Tennessee, the band's complete lineup includes guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon. Combining influences of southern rock, hard rock and mainstream alternative music with an irresistible, rowdy work-hard, play-hard attitude, the band's first break came in 2005, when Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Saliva, Submersed) produced their self-titled EP.
