According to a Twistedear.com, Rage Against The Machine is apparently readying to record their first album of new material in nearly ten years. The report says that the band is in talks of recording their new album for their longtime label Sony and expect to release it in 2009. Before you get your hopes up this comes from a "source". Nine Inch Nails, which is planning to release a branded version of the popular iPhone music game TapTap Revenge. The special edition of the game will feature 16 tracks from the recent albums "The Slip" and "Ghosts I-IV," some of which were edited or remixed specifically for the game.more

A Jamaican judge has cleared Grammy-winning musician Beenie Man of tax-evasion charges, saying the government never informed him of his legal rights. If only the IRS worked that way! more

American Idol winner David Cook will release his debut album on November 18th, 2008. The first single, "Light On," produced by Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Kid Rock) is available at all digital providers today.

Official French Arch Enemy fan club, The Dark Enemy Fan Club, report that a new DVD+CD set entitled Tyrants Of The Rising Sun: Live In Japan, will be released in Europe on November 7th through Century media. details

After months of searching, the Von Bondies have finally found a home. The Detroit rock group has signed to Majordomo Records, a division of Shout Factory, and will release its third album, "Love, Hate, and Then There's You," on Feb. 3. more

Thursday has officially inked a deal with Epitaph Records. The group's Epitaph debut will be available in spring 2009. more

Three Fearless bands: Mayday Parade, The Maine and Every Avenue have joined up with All Time Low and are headed to Ventura on October 30, San Diego on October 31, West Hollywood on November 1, Anaheim on November 2, San Francisco on November 4, and Orangevale on November 5 for the nationwide "Compromising of Integrity, Morality, & Principles in Exchange for Money" tour.

Gogol Bordello will sweep Southern California this week as part of their Forces of Victory Tour 2008 including a performance at LA Weekly's Detour Festival on Saturday, October 4 in Downtown Los Angeles. The bands electrifying show can also be seen this week at 4th and B in San Diego (Wednesday, October 1) and the Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim on (Thursday, October 2).

A Norway consumer agency said it aims to take computer group Apple to court over what it calls unfair barriers to playing music from the iTunes music store on devices other than Apple's iPod. more

Turmoil and frontman Jon Gula have parted ways. Gula was a founding member of the group, which originally formed in 1992. Last February Turmoil signed with Eulogy Recordings and has slowly been working on a new full-length.
