Razia's Shadow (A Musical)
The intricately crafted concept recording – which features vocal performances from members of such bands as Panic At The Disco, Saves The Day, and Say Anything – marks a milestone for Forgive Durden, as they follow up their 2006 full-length debut, "Wonderland," with an unprecedented work of rock 'n' roll songwriting and storytelling. "Razia's Shadow" arrives in stores and at online music retailers on October 28th.
Composed and conceived by the band's singer/songwriter Thomas Dutton, "Razia's Shadow" is a full-on piece of musical talespinning, complete with elaborate characters, powerful themes, and a hauntingly beautiful narrative. The album tells the story of a world divided in two by the selfish actions of a powerful, egotistical, and yet insecure angel. After generations of darkness, the world is eventually brought back together by the love and sacrifice of a couple brave enough to fulfill their destinies.
The saga's many characters are portrayed on "Razia's Shadow" by a remarkable range of notable modern rock vocalists. Among the outstanding cast members are Forgive Durden's fellow Fueled By Ramen artists, Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco, Greta Salpeter of The Hush Sound, and Dan Young of This Providence, all appearing alongside members of such bands as mewithoutYou, The Dear Hunter, Say Anything, Saves The Day, Gatsbys American Dream, Portugal. The Man, The Audition, Man In The Blue Van, The Matches, and An Angle.
